I am using an ice block from the freezer and a bottle with frozen water which roll up and down under your foot. Both those have improved the situation considerably. |
Took me a long time to recover from it, spent money on physios and acupuncture, tried all that ice treatment but what absolutely done the trick for me in the end was just taking ibuprofen but highly dosed at 400mg three times a day for seven days.. Initially wanted to cure this without tablets, wish I'd have just done this from the start looking back, they're so cheap too, had no pain or problems since..

For the non medical among us what exactly is a on 17:36 - Aug 4 by ronnyd | Have the insoles that you tried got the arch support? Some, (very expensive) insoles only cover the actual heel. I bought some of the heel only type first off and found that it made it feel worse. Went for the full insole with the arch support and mine has now gone. This was also recommended to me by a podiatrist. Hope you get rid soon. |
Thanks Ronnyd. Mine are just cheap scholls but have arch support and make a massive difference - with them I can walk without a limp, without them I’m hobbling along. Glad you sorted yours.
For the non medical among us what exactly is a on 22:31 - Aug 5 with 933 views | BlueForYou | Remember having this injury about 15 years ago. Tried everything, but rest was the only cure. Not easy when you have to be on your feet all day at work! It’s painful & bloody annoying! To have a tear is going to take ages to heal.

A work colleague of mine once broke his ring finger and on coming into the office annouced 'Look I broke my f4cking finger. The bosses very posh and usually very proper PA turned and simply said 'no I think you'll find that the one next to it' [Post edited 6 Aug 2023 11:08]

Many thanks for that. By freaky coincidence I did mine (fasciitis, not tear) on Friday a few hours after the CW announcement was made. Never had anything like it before - thought initially it was just a bruised heel from weeding uneven & stony ground under trees where it was rather dark on a cloudy afternoon. Only became aware next day that the pain wasn't too bad when my heel contacted the ground, it was when my foot was flexed, ie when my toes were on the ground & heel up, that I was getting it. Flat hard wellies & shower sandals around the house are now out, walking shoes are more comfortable, but will look at the options on that ebay page + the supporting insoles that others have mentioned, thanks all 👍

The Torture Sock is like a medieval device that bends your foot to stretch the muscles...as you sleep. It hurts like Hell to wear, but the pain is worth it in the long run. I also bought some Sketchers training shoes, absolute bliss for painful feet. Good luck with getting it sorted
