Just shows how ridiculous that contract length was. The announcment was the first thing I saw on Twitter as soon as I parked the car at Wycombe. A rather bizarre start to an awful year.

Even more from the 3 years that followed. The relegation season, two and a half years of stagnating in League 1. Awful times.

Well, ever since the relegation from the PL, we had a few enjoyable seasons after BFJ, but from his penultimate season in charge, it's been over 15 years of near unrelenting dross, punctuated by the early McCarthy years, when you could at least see what he was trying to do. until McKenna came along, we haven't had a manager with an apparent plan.

Jim's second season in charge was pretty enjoyable, at least the first half of the campaign when there was little expectation. The issue was Evans' arrival raising it, and Jim being unable to live up to what was required. Not that anyone who followed him managed to - Mick aside.
