Watched Milner (37yrs) playing with Ferguson (19yrs) for Brighton last night and wondered which ITFC players, with the biggest age difference, played together for us.
We have had 16 year olds play for us so guessing that a greater age difference than 18 years is possible.

I think it's possible that a near retirement Warky may have played alongside a 17 year old Richard Wright but not 100% sure. That'd have to be a contender.

I thought of him – it seems like the youngest player on the pitch for us that day was Steve McCall, born in 1960.

I was also thinking about Keogh playing in cup matches last season alongside one or two youngsters but that would have only been around a 17-year age gap.
What may have been the greatest age gap came on 12th January 1952 in the FA Cup – we drew 2-2 with Gateshead at Portman Road in the third round, and Mick Burns (b. 1908) played his final game in goal for us at the age of 43 years and 219 days, with the youngest player on the pitch for Ipswich being John Elsworthy (b. 1931), a mere 21 years and 170 days old. This made for a gap of 22 years and 49 days. I'm not sure if it is the greatest, and there might have been some other games that Burns played in around that time where we fielded players younger than Elsworthy, but I looked at that one as it was Burns' last match for Ipswich and he is the oldest player in our history.
