You would assume the stage would need to be built in the next couple of days if they were going to do something on Bank Holiday Monday.
Maybe it will be an old-school open-top bus parade through town, but the Cornhill would be no-where near big enough, especially given the H&S these days and all the street furniture there now.

Winning the league - yes
Promotion via the playoffs - yes.
Both attract trophies to be paraded.
Finishing 2nd? I'm not so sure.
I can't help that it all feels a bit "them lot up the road".

When we all got back from Wembley in 2000, the spoilsport cops had ordered all the town centre pubs to shut so you had no choice but to take to the streets. I remember being at the top of Civic drive celebrating on the roundabout with loads of people lol |  |

I completely agree. A parade for finishing 2nd definitely screams of something the sister-bothering trophy-dodgers up the road would do.
A promotion party in Christchurch Park or at Portman Road is much more appropriate IMO. | | | |

I don't understand why they did that. I guess they just didn't want the hassle of policing the town centre.
Also, does anyone remember a near riot on the Cornhill during the 98 World Cup? It was a Friday night after an England game. Hundreds of people for some reason spontaneously gathered at the Cornhill and started going mental. The market stalls had all been set out for Saturday and they all got trashed. At first there was only a few cops just looking on and watching. Then they turned up mob handed with riot shields and forced everyone out of the square. Crazy night! | |

Don't know about a parade, as such. But some sort of event to celebrate promotion (like last year's).
Moreover, if we go up, a double promotion is a mighty feat in itself, only been done twice before between L1 and the Prem. |  |
