If I were his attorney I'd suggest a fairly short length of hose.

Why will he get a non custodial sentence? What sort of punishment is that?

Get tough on crime I say.

White collar crime, no real victim - not something that would lead to a custodial sentence

Every crime has a victim. White collar or not.

Ridiculous especially as you can't vote as a convicted felon but you can be president!

While the scary thing is that the trial verdict will convince even more of the Trump diehards that the whole system is rigged against him, the reality is that some of Trump's marginal supporters are likely to be dissuaded from voting for him by this verdict so his re-election chances have probably been diminished.

Not that I care, I certainly haven't been bothered to keep up with all this rubbish, but I have done jury service on 2 cases & I recall of perhaps half a dozen or a dozen counts, verdicts were returned on nearly all (but not all)

The return of all THIRTY FOUR counts convinces me it's a fit up
They'd have been better finding him guilty on perhaps 29 counts & it would have been more realistic
Don't forget, I'm utterly neutral on this
It appears that the US prosecution is embarrassingly, obviously not

That is either a wilful misunderstanding of how it works, or perhaps you don't know the charges. Each of the invoices and cheques are a separate count. If he was guilty of one, then he is guilty of them all - they are basically the same charge each time.

That is just nonsense.

A lot of the charges depend for proof on others being proven. If he was guilty of 'A' then the cover-up allegations, 'B', 'C' etc are also likely to be proven. And he repeated similar crimes several times. It is his way of doing things. His MO.

I do love the argument that it must be a rigged verdict if he is guilty of all counts.

And then to argue they should rig the rigged verdict to make it look less rigged.

In the UK, if you punch someone once or multiple times you can be charged with a crime relating to assault eg. ABH, GBH, attempted murder etc.

In the US, if you punch someone 10 times then you could* get 10 assault charges.

* doesn't mean you will, just that you could.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
