One of my memories of the first time we were in the Premier 20:58 - May 31 with 3512 views | DarkBrandon | Was having loads of away fans in the home end. When ManU (or whoever) scored the front 3 rows of Churchman’s used to leap up and cheer. Don’t think that will be happening this time round

One of my memories of the first time we were in the Premier on 21:13 - May 31 with 3387 views | gainsboroughblue | It was more prevalent in the second and third seasons from memory. Our attendances dipped mostly below 20,000 mainly due to the absolute dull as ditchwater football we started playing. It wasn't a good look was it. Actually p1ssed me off at the time. A load of Forest jumped up in the Churchmans on the opening day of 94-95 as well when Brian Roy scored. Probably a lot easier to get in to home sections then. I certainly don't remember it being an issue in 2000-01 and 2001-02 (I know North Stand was out of action for most of the second season). [Post edited 31 May 2024 21:19]

One of my memories of the first time we were in the Premier on 21:13 - May 31 with 3396 views | Illinoisblue | Always used to be a few United in the home ends around that era. I recall a couple of loud Arsenal fans toward the back of the North for the cup game in 93/94. It did not end well for them.

I recall. I ate into crucial drinking time cos I had to sit up Heath Road hospital for hours after the game with a mate who done his ankle falling off the kerb on Norwich Road running towards a load of Gooners. [Post edited 31 May 2024 21:19]

Remember a load of spurs entering the North towards the end of a match. Not sure of season but in our first stint of the premier league era.

An eventful day that was. Don’t recall a game like it where there was trouble before, during, after and into the night.

Can remember reading a hooligan book a few years ago. I think I was just in Waterstones keeping away from a downpour outside. Anyway, there was an Arsenal piece in there where it said they always got a 'welcome' at Ipswich from 78ish onwards where all the local nutjobs would come out of the woodwork, and never understood why.

I remember a Man U game when there were away fans in the West Stand and there was a fair bit of annoyance on here and the club's reaction was along the lines of 'So what?' when I approached them about it. I said I'd run a story outlining their response and the now long moved on media manager got rather threatening and unpleasant about me doing so.

I was sat in the Pioneer upper for that quarter final against Arsenal and there was even a fight broke out when Kiwomya scored started by gooners sat in amongst the old biddies doing their knitting up there. Never seen anything like it. Well, apart from the Leicester hare-krishnas. My other abiding memory of that prem stint was our stupidly large nets. Looked real naff. [Post edited 31 May 2024 22:56]

Depends on why there was annoyance. If people were just annoyed they were there then there's not much that can be done. If they are being absolute tw@ts then they should be removed

remember that game..afterwards there were skirmishes all the way up Portman rd…continued onto norwich rd almost to Coes when a huge contingent came out of the hare and hounds…seems they were a bit miffed that their game of pool had been interrupted as in the rush to see what was going on and they forgot to leave their cues behind ..game over…literally..😂😂 [Post edited 1 Jun 2024 8:20]

It used to piss me off when you'd get away fans in the home ends - mainly because they were always the pissed up arsehole type who were "brave" enough to do it and couldn't being pissed up arseholes.

The FA Cup 1/4 v Arsenal in 90s there was a large group of em in the corner that used to exist between North and West Stands which threatened to kick off. In amongst them was someone I knew to be an Ipswich fan, including regular away travel. Not seen him since to ask why / how? I mean maybe he just found himself among them and went along with it for self preservation?

In one of the hooligan books the General Gordon / Earl Roberts gets a mention, might be "Steaming In" by Colin Ward. Think they played spoof with the yokels. But that's all I remember. Think there's a stolen car in that story?
