I think the 'available for free transfer' signifies that they are still in contract but the club wants them off the books (not necessarily because they are not good enough, the club may have to make space in the squad for new signings in line with Premier League rules), whilst 'released' means that the player is now out of contract and the contract will not be renewed. Be interesting to see if any of the available on a free players get their contract paid up. | |

Of those released:
If personal matters were/are sorted I'd risk Williams. I'd also like 3 from Spurs in Dier, Tanganga and Sessegnon.
Dier isn't everyone's cup of tea but I think he could bring an 'older' head to the squad. Both Tanganga and Sessegnon have had terrible injury luck (and bad management at times) but, in the mould of Tuanzebe, could have some unfulfilled potential that McKenna may know of and me able to nuture.

But our three released players were all well beyond youth level, so left as free agents and there would be no question of compensation if another club signed Jackson, Ball or Camara, surely ? | |
