Just seen that Pompey have signed an 18 year old from AFC Sudbury (Reuben Swann), does anyone know anything about him and whether we ever scouted him

Highly likely he would've been given he was in Colchester's academy previously and been so highly thought of at Sudbury. Fantastic opportunity for him.

I’ve heard that he can be very aggressive and when he gets in a flap will try and break your leg or arm. Very probably a myth though.

I'm sure we would have done, academy has links with KHS. Went up there for a presser one morning and bumped into my old form teacher!

She didn't recognise me! However, that probably wasn't a surprise as I was in her form nearly 40 years previously.

Who was your form tutor? I might be asking as I could be heading to KHS for placement next year (and I also went there)

That was Mrs Thatcher (not that one), although she was Miss Chase when I was there.

It was thought he wouldn’t fit in with the group. A bit of an ugly duckling, if you will.

I hate to miss the chase. I know who you meant and if I remember right she was pretty well avoided where possible... or was that Mr Thatcher... hmmm - I do remember Mr Thatcher commonly threw blackboard erasers and chalk at students who weren't paying attention.

I remember that There was a home ec teacher who I mix up with Mrs Thatcher who always used to give you 10/10 - even if serving slop on a plate. Then one day she broke rank and gave a 7/10. As far as I know she never issued another 10/10 from that point on - you hate to see it happen to folk.

Mr Thatcher was a PE teacher along with Mr Rolls, who worked at the academy and was who reintroduced me to Miss Chase.

I don't remember who the home economics teacher might have been. I remember Mrs Williams, Mrs Tyzack and Miss Coe.

Miss Coe was my form tutor, always used to show up to class with a can of diet coke. I couldn't imagine Mr Thatcher being a PE teacher (late 90s) - He was not your typicial athlete at this time. Small world though.

He wasn't PE but managed the school football teams, think he fancied himself as the man who found Richard Hall

Actually, I’d heard a few polish and Eastern European teams were keen on him.
