He's not a tactical genius, I think it is clear from this and previous tournaments that in game changes are not his strength, but at the same time if two subs combine for a winning goal soon after coming on you have to give the manager credit for that. We might say that they should have happened earlier, but who's to say if they come earlier the perhaps the Dutch make a change to adapt.
Ultimately I feel that Holland team have had a bit of an easy ride this tournament, they too have a squad full of quality and they scraped through their group in 3rd. We did fall away a little in the second half, but on the balance of the whole game we thoroughly deserved the win, and on another day it would have been comfortable. | | | |
