When to pretend you're impressed... but dying a little inside 16:00 - Jul 14 with 2695 views | wkj | I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I went to the lady's family for dinner. The Dad decided to cook, but instead of roasties he made steak cut oven fries... is there a number I can call or something, as I am deeply traumatised by this... oh... and Dad had ketchup. What a way to ruin onion ring gravy.

The broccoli was crunchy so needed more time. Can't win them all. Slice of bread to mop up all the sauce but would your family dinner companions have allowed that?

When to pretend you're impressed... but dying a little inside on 16:28 - Jul 14 with 2454 views | Churchman | Roast chicken in a bit. Roasties, good quality chipolatas, bacon rolls, green beans, yorkshires and gravy. Strawberries and cream to follow. Should do the job. I don’t mind oven chips, but not with a roast and I’m not a fan of the big steak cut ones. Crinkle cut is the go to oven chip.

Ham and salad is perfectly normal, though I confess not the optimal choice adored by the masses. Now if you want to get really bizarre with my admissions of taste, Takis (Fuego) with Coronation Chicken sarnie

Not in bread. Sort just roll up the bacon and enjoy alongside chipolatas or sausages, pigs in blanket style. Bit like Christmas dinner without the sprouts, stuffing and bilious rubbish on tv.

Coronation chicken is actually ok. Ham egg and chips is an ok combo. Very much a golfers post round thing. The ham has to be good quality though. The last last thing you need it thick slabs of fatty, globulous nastiness.

I am anti pineapple when it comes to Pizza, I can only apologise. In case you missed this at the time, here’s a link to a quite funny Pizza/Football related story : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-13199365/Brighton-fans-hold-j

Lamb shoulder chop lightly grilled with rosemary from the garden, courgette, roast sliced beetroot and fried polenta, all with a dash of Bisto lamb gravy. Then apple, scone with homemade jam and twenty five grammes of Aldi's seventy percent cocoa chocolate. I haven't even got any chips in the freezer at the moment.

Still impressive. I salute you. Now pineapple. Not on a pizza. Wrong. However, try poached salmon with a ring of pineapple underneath it. I don’t know why, it works. Trust me on this - you’ll thank me.

Not sure why, but I've never regarded pizza as a main course for dinner. I like pizza and enjoy a few slice, the family loves pizza for dinner but I prefer a more "standard" fare for my main meal of the day. Anyway, enjoy the footie and don't fall asleep.

Drool, slobber. Reminds me of the time I used to stay in hotels on business trips. Reading the descriptions of each dish on the menu sometimes tasted better in my imagination than the actual food.

Im confused by having chips with Pizza. It's nice, sure, but it seems like overkill - same with lasagna. Never have Lasagna and pizza.

I used to eat pizza quite regularly as a main course, say half a Dr Oetker's one day and then the other half a day or three later. Then I got into the ZÓE podcast and Michael Moseley advice and started to cut back on anything with more than twelve ingredients, looked on the back of the pizza packet and saw that it just didn't come up to scratch. I thought that cutting pizza out of my diet would be really tough but I just did it and never even missed it.
