Ballot 13:30 - Jul 16 with 6869 viewsChris_ITFC

The most obvious flaw in the new set-up seems to be that a ballot winner can only buy 1 ticket presumably - so what happens to those you go with? Eg. Parent and child

Any advance on “Tough luck”..?

Same question I have...my 10yo could get a ballot ticket but i might not?

Yes no mention of that. I'm sure that might come in. "link" accounts or something.

I'm sure when we were last in the Premier League they must have done that as me and my dad got tickets for a few games....together.

have emailed the ticket office about the parent / child scenario. Have asked them to update their FAQs with the answer but will post their response on here.

Thanks Gringo!

Sure, people could just let their ballot opportunity slide, but that feels a very unsatisfactory system. The optimum would surely be allowing ballot winners to buy 2 tickets, but the second must also be a member.

Indeed that seems like a must. Not many people go on their own. By having a ballot for single seats only that is a sure fire way to allow touts to get their hands on them to re-sell them.

On the flip side though, that gives those members an unfair advantage over those that would be going alone.

Ballot would cover parent and child as a package wouldn’t be separated

Thanks Billabas! Are you able to be more specific about what it says? I’m not on Facebook and the group is private

Or to anyone with Facebook access… Is it just if a child ticket is bought? Or for 2 adults?

Thank you.

I’d imagine that you would be able to specify in the ballot how many tickets you are looking for and link it to your child’s associated account. That’s what happens with Lords etc for test match ballots

Do you know if this just applies to adult/child groups, or can it be groups of adults?

So does that mean that a family of four have a 4 chances to win a set of 4 tickets whereas a singleton would have just the one chance?

I'm not sure they've tried very hard with the home tickets.

The away scheme is fine.

Doesn't the same issue of large groups having many more goes at the ballot exist for away also?

But the ballot for the away scheme only kicks in after the priority has been exhausted.

For home games there is in effect no priority system which I don't think is right.

Or does it mean that the odds of a group ballot succeeding are much lower, because all membership numbers would need to be drawn at once in order for the party to be successful (or an equivalent weighting system is applied to group applicants, in the event entrants are assigned a ballot number instead)? Maybe there will be separate draws to provide fixed proportions of successful singles, pairs etc. in every ballot.

Hopefully we have a whistleblower on the specifics early in the season.
