Treating a new football kit as a necessity is a bit weird 12:28 - Jul 18 with 4969 viewsIllinoisblue

Weirder still to fundraise for it. Usually see gofundme and just giving pages raising money for cancer patients or funeral expenses. New Town kit doesn’t seem quite as important. Each to their own I guess.

I'm surprised to see [redacted] supporting this.....

It's an odd campaign, to take your point further, who does decide which kids benefit from the generosity of other fans? It's very different to the campaign a few years back to give unused, and sellable, tickets to kids in the Town who would not get to go otherwise. That was properly targeted.

I never give to GoFundMe causes unless you're happy just to "give money" as I believe, that's in reality what you're doing and don't have much idea/say on where the funds will go.

This is JustGiving, which I thought was better but the fact it says "The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised." does seem to be a similar situation. Maybe they've branched out to this now go fund me pages are happening.

If you're happy to just give money with no guarantee it will be spent on this cause, then feel free to donate. I have no idea if this guy is genuine or not but I prefer to donate to a more "formal" charity or to someone I know more about.

That Twittrrer is right of course, but I still like the idea if it brings a bit of joy to under-privileged (is that term still used/appropriate?) kids. I’d prefer to deal with an established charity though, ideally via the club.

If that's still there it seems a better place to donate kits to good causes.

On top of that, Cruncher himself is supporting/promoting it, so that's the absolute gold seal of legitimacy...

Crunch is probably in the top 1 of fans we’ve ever had.
