Non-football related?

I start, I collect glass plate photographic negatives.
Only rule I make is they must contain people, and must date from before 1920.

Twenty years of disappointment, but decided that was enough so I've taken to collecting joy now. Have two years so far, but anticipate a bumper-sized collection with a prize piece or two to match some I had in the dim and distant past.

Think that may be football related though……

Not really. I would like to collect and display something consistent from ancient empires. If money were no object, I'd collect coins (😂). I also don't know enough about them to guarantee I'd be getting something authentic.

If money wasn't an object, there would be no coins to collect!

Train numbers.

My Grandfather had books of those,he used to stand on a bridge in Dedham/Lawford and watch the trains go by.

I'm an avid vinyl collector.

I’ve got first editions of most Smiths releases.

On a separate aside how can a physical groove in a substance represent multiple instruments and voices all at the same time. You’d think that would be impossible.

When I dig in my garden I find small pieces of glass, crockery, pottery etc. The moles also leave these as gifts on their hill begging I stop my war against them. I'm collecting all these pieces, sorted into colours.. and one day have a crude plan to make a garden ornament dragon/crocodile using the pieces.

Some of the many spires and bobbles on the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona have bits of broken glass, bottle tops, crockery fragments and so on embedded in the concrete and stonework. Worth having a look for inspiration if you ever find yourself up there.

Some of those are with hundreds, highly collectible, I know of a couple of people who do the same and still dig now, genuinely digging up stuff each weekend ranging for common bottles that settle for a few quid to match-strikers and pot lids etc worth well over £100 a time.

Recently seen pub beer pump labels start to be sold second hand on ebay and in collector's centres. Only 50p to £2 each, lots of nice artwork and interesting to see the price of a pint still written on reverse, most I've seen are when a pint cost around £3.40! Cotleigh Brewery from Somerset (sadly closed) have nice Bird range of labels.
Have picked up a fair number of East Anglian breweries labels, especially of beers no longer brewed.

When planting shrubs l dig a square metre down to the sub soil, usually 12 to 16 inches down, then sieve out stones for rockery or soakaway. The shrub has plenty of clean soil with added compost. I also find lots of pottery and other objects in the sieve. These garden 'digs' result in a small drawer of bagged finds; post medieval pottery, always some small medieval sherds, coal, toys, bones, metal objects, fossils, modern coins, so far no treasure...
