Sarmiento/Left Wing 20:07 - Jul 24 with 2256 viewsitfc_bucks

Don't get me wrong, I love the sentiment behind bringing back JS but I don't think he's the solution. I'll love and adore him for that moment against Southampton, but he's much more a random element than the structured, cultured footballer that fits into KM's plan.

If McKenna wants Clarke or another for that role over Sarmiento, I'm inclined to put my whole faith in that call.

Disclaimer - early last season I chatted with the bloke behind us at Reading in the cup and told him that Hutch was a one trick show pony with no end product...safe to say I've been wrong before...

...left winger though.

Davis provides the width and uses the space created in front of him by having the left sided attacker tucking inside and playing as an "inside left" or second "10".

It's diffent on the right of course, with Burns operating in a wide attacking right role.

In that respect Sarmiento does fit into KMs formula.

I’d sign Sarmiento like a shot. Good player. He has that X factor.

and the trend is your friend - the JS at the end of the loan period knocked spots off that at the beginning... I am there for it

Isn’t there an agreement in place that we can sign him for another season loan after we got promoted?

The initial loan had a clause for a further season loan triggered if we won promotion, was my understanding of it…
Think if we want him we get first dibs of a loan move. Not sure on the legality of it all if BHA want to keep him around or get a loan offer elsewhere but thought there was something formal in place

So would I, the bloke oozes class.

I am absolutely stumped why anyone wouldn't want him.

Completely off the scale baby!

Completely agree. Was a massive reason we went up. Such an impact. Bundle of energy when he came on and he was aggressive in the tackle as well as a constant threat.

What I love about him is he's raw and has a lot of potential and a high ceiling in my view. Not got electric pace or he'd be a top player.

His no-look pass to Hirst away at Cov which we nearly scored from was elite level assist work. We should absolutely sign him. But why would Brighton want rid of him?

I would sign him, but expect Brighton want silly money for him. Haven't seen any quotes about how much, but suspect more than Hutchinson.

I would have him back in a heartbeat personally but I understand there are some that feel he only contributed in a few moments. For me he joined in Jan, wasn’t fit/match sharp, got better and better and was really excelling by the end of the season. He also seemed to be a positive character. He would or be a cult figure type or may have to be a cult figure of the past!
