Says the person who seemingly believes everything they watch. Even if it’s at least partially funded by the oil and gas industry trying to discredit scientists in the name of profit.

Just watched this superb documentary /film on climate change. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31851190/?ref_=ext_shr
Some real eye opening stuff on there, highly recommended.

Rather annoying is that I was in Walton on the Naze today with my Grandkids and it could have been a bit warmer to be honest.

I'm not saying climate change doesn't exist and I am not trying to stir things up.

I am not a knowledgeable man when it comes to climate change matters but I admit to not being as concerned as some.

I'm more concerned about things like plastic pollution, especially in our oceans. Micro plastics, now they are a massive problem!

I repeat, I am not saying climate change isn't a thing but I have been told things over the decades that have been a load of sh1te.

I'm seriously interested, what are peoples comments on all the possible hyperbole? I can remember being told all sorts of cr4p at school, in fact I'm convinced that Manhattan should be underwater by now.

Plenty of plastic around. We’re a right old messy species. I always cut the loops on those plastic can holders you still sometimes get on 4 packs. It’s not much, but if they ever get into the wild (a lot of our recycling gets dumped in open tips overseas) they’re not going to strangle some wild animal.

Not bird friendly, that's for sure. Hooever, I'm not sure they are a thing anymore are they?

Beers tend to come in boxes these days or have cardboard carry tops.

As a company we will hope to be plastic free packaging within 18 months. There are a few components we are struggling with but we are trying to use bamboo more.

So errr, remember how cars didn’t have catalytic converters, and CFC’s were widely used, and acid rain was a thing.

I had a look at some of those stories, not all, but some of those stories lead to things like clean air acts in the US, catalytic converters and banning of CFC’s

That was back in the day when saving the planet was in the same category as helping old ladies across the road, and not kicking dogs, i.e. not that controversial and generally seen as a good thing.

So some progress was made.

I have often thought that The Earth would be better of of without us. The problem with us humans is that we are extremely intelligent but we are still animals with animal instincts and that part of our nature has not evolved. Deer fight each other by clashing antlers. Chimps fight each other by throwing stones and hitting each other with sticks. We fight each other with tanks and bombs.

Are you accusing climate scientists of hyperbole?

I think you raise a good point about the ability of people to discern between the egregious nonsense written by notorious climate change deniers in those links you have provided and the actual science.

You trust physicists and engineers when you fly in a plane so why not on climate change? Ultimately it comes down to whether you want to understand the world around you or plump for fairytales such as quantum healing or mainstream economics.

.... what we were told in the 80s 90s is clearly coming true though. I was told as a child we were killing all the animals, the insects were dying, and we were filling the sea with plastic, the ice was shrinking, there was a hole in the ozone layer, the problems were man made.

What part was a load of shiite?
