I think you make a salient point. Poor mental health can always exacerbate someone's inclination to hurt or kill themselves/others, but there is definitely a threshold someone has to pass before it gets that bad, in most cases.
I personally know someone who is schizophrenic, and he has held people hostage and also tried to take his own life, both in a desperate attempt to get more help from the NHS.
Also just listened to a podcast on Femicide and it's interesting that there are studies suggesting 8 steps of behaviour that lead to men killing their female partners, so there is a real suggestion that handling mental health issues, if tackled early, can avoid tragedy down the line. Living in USA now, I very much agree with this comment. So many times I wish USA would bring in the no guns law and police it like UK did 30+ years ago.
I have friends in that area of England so this certainly opened my eyes. My thoughts go out to all involved in this including the police and medical staff. |

I can’t describe how angry it makes me seeing the vigil of poor little innocent dead children being turned into a campaign of vile racist hatred an an excuse for the far right to use it to attack a mosque and the police.
Absolutely vile cowardice and those kids memories deserve so much better. These scumbags rioting don’t give a f**k about the kids involved. It’s just a way for them to scream about hating immigrants and Muslims, totally oblivious and ignorant to the fact he was born in Cardiff and wasn’t a Muslim.
