Ioannidis... on 16:13 - Aug 11 by BloomBlue | Leicester won the Prem and FA cup within the last 10 years and had been in the Prem for a long period before relegation in 2023. Southampton had also been in the prem for a long time before relegation in 2023. Leicester also won the championship last season. Many, many players will see both their recent history compared with ours over the last 15-20 years and see them as a better bet for surviving this season than us, that's football. Once we've established ourselves in the Prem it will be a lot easier to attract players. |
The flip side to that is everyone knows they are likely to drop points to a transfer embargo and they have lost the manager that got them promoted. They are far from the stable environment that ITFC clearly is.

Ioannidis... on 15:59 - Aug 11 by Mullet | He’s already 6ft3 I think. Did see someone tweet we were the club in for him but I think that was a wishful guess. That said if Omari is talking to ex teammates about how good he’s had it here, who knows? |
You can’t possibly expect Omari to even know half of his ex-Chelsea team mates. [Post edited 11 Aug 2024 16:33]

Ioannidis... on 14:37 - Aug 11 by Blooos | Another newly promoted club possibly getting Zaha shows we are still behind just due to our name, we wouldn’t have a chance at Zaha and yet we’ve come up with them. We seriously need AT LEAST 2 attackers in the door and ready to play a part against Liverpool, as it stands Ladapo is going to be playing 20 minutes. |
Zaha, at 31, doesn’t fit our profile.

Ioannidis... on 16:13 - Aug 11 by Blooos | I would absolutely go all out on Broja, pedigree at a big club, scored a few goals in the premier league for Southampton on loan, young and room to grow (in value not just size). |
He is not a physical enough presence for us. We will at times be under a lot of pressure in games. We need someone physical who can hold off two defenders and win a free kick or something. Broja for me would get lost in games. Delap has that quality. Fotis did too hence the bids early in the summer. Maybe we will match a bid if it actually gets accepted. There was zero point in bidding against ourselves. [Post edited 11 Aug 2024 18:10]

Like the 31 year old left back we've just signed? Zaha would be an incredible loan.

There is a lot of "sweating" going on in the transfer market currently while Clubs get a feel for what players are worth. Similar to SS, clubs have an over inflated value assessment for players. As time ticks by and Clubs need transfer funds to meet FFP/fund their own incoming transfers we'll start to see more deals being done. It's frustrating but Sky Sports don't make a massive deal of Transfer deadline day for nothing. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Seems a very strange window for alot of clubs Cooper at Leicester desperate for signings. Liverpool even with their funds havent bothered Forest. Everton worried about point deductions. Usually by now there are loads of loans going on. But even these seems low compared to previous years.

I wonder if a fee is agreed, will we return to the table or did we move on with the signing of Delap. Suspect we won’t but Delap can play on the right as cover for Burns or in preference.
