Have we covered Wayne Rooney's Plymouth? on 08:53 - Aug 12 with 2120 views | Dubtractor | It was briefly covered, but no harm doing so again. Plymouth were bloody hopeless, looked to have no plan at all for what do do with the ball when they had it. No passing patterns, counter attack threat, or indeed any clue at all. I'd be VERY worried if I was a Plymouth fan. Couple of further points. - Stands out that Rooney has gone straight into blaming the players after game, rather than at least sharing the blame. - I thought it was odd that Rooney spent a chunk of his Summer working at the Euros as a pundit. Would have thought he'd have been better focussing fully on his new job, where he needed to repair his badly damaged managerial reputation. I imagine Plymouth fans feel even more strongly about that point.

On the hopeless football though didn't the same happen with Russell Martin, took them some time to get going with him blaming anyone but himself and being a generally shameless and graceless plonker. Let's see what happens. Rooney did alright at Derby amidst a proper mess and I don't believe he's quite as clueless as some make out. I'm probably completely wrong, of course surely obviously.

Have we covered Wayne Rooney's Plymouth? on 09:06 - Aug 12 with 2003 views | Basuco | Were Plymouth that bad or were Wednesday good? Danny Rohl did a brilliant job to turn Wednesday around and keep them up last season, he has now had a preseason to get his idea's and patterns of play across even more. It is very easy to say Plymouth were poor, disorganised and a team of strangers, but I would give it a few more games to see how they look. But with Hull, QPR, Stoke, Sunderland, West Brom, Luton and Burnley up next, we will see if Rooney can prove he can be a Championship manager. He may even be sacked by October!

On the point about Rooney being at the Euros, I was told by someone very much ITK that his time at Birmingham was an absolute car crash, not just by way of results but in terms of his application and attitude. He never moved to the area, travelled down a bit during the week for training but often dialled in to Zoom calls from Cheshire or wherever he lives instead. Was drinking a lot too apparently, basically just a complete circus from day 1 to day 80 and very much not what you need or expect from a manager. When you compare that to the sort of character KM is its no wonder how vastly different the outcomes were. As others have said I'm absolutely staggered Plymouth hired him.

Seems to spend half his time on The Overlap with Neville and co as well. You either want to be a manager or you don't - you can't be a part time manager, part time pundit these days. Would assume he's not relocated to Plymouth either!

His only vague success was at Derby, when Liam Rosenior was his assistant. Think its fairly clear who actually did most of the managing in that set up.

Sadly, so does McKenna- and spits out gum. That really disappointed me.

I think Wednesday were good, possibly better than good. However, Rooney setup with two wingers and two forwards, leaving the midfield open for Barry Barry Bannan.....

Whittaker imo is at his level. Not a premier league player for me at the moment.
Have we covered Wayne Rooney's Plymouth? on 12:39 - Aug 12 with 1324 views | Rimsy | Really shouldn't care what happens with Rooney, to give him a second thought, but just can't help myself. Like glancing at a car wreck on the motorway. He really is an odious little man bereft of any class or skill as a manager. How he keeps getting these jobs is beyond me.
