Nope. It was never a straight red and VAR would have got involved if it was. However, it was a clear yellow card and VAR and retrospective action do not get involved in those.
Morsy was very fortunate not to get a second yellow a couple of times today. |  |

Atwell is not a good ref. He slowed play down so many times to be a pedantic butt munch (free kick, Clarke's corner).
However, he didn't get too many decisions wrong aside from Morsy. He just one of those refs that craves attention. |  | | |

He wasnt that bad, aside from some strange bookings and at times it took him an age to make a decision, I wasn't sure if he was waiting for a voice in his ear piece to tell him what to give, or if he was assessing the qulity off the play acting before he gave a free kick. |  |

I don't think taking their time to make a decision is a bad thing from a referee, personally. Sometimes, I think they should be taking advice from their assistants too. | |

Until we were in league one I’d have agreed with you. If the premier league refs are league one level than league one refs are Sunday league standard. There don’t seem to be many good refs around at all, the current premier league refs are the best of a bad bunch. | |
