Had a look at the latest four pages of OTIB and can’t see it. I think they must have moved on at long last. I see they’ve started mid table so are doing ok, not that I give a hoot.

You do wonder how much longer they are keen to perpetuate it all being his fault and not simply the owner who has been bankrolling them some time, fairly competitively without any real success

Don’t know about the bubble bursting was very much hoping that would be the case but they look to have appointed a good manager. Seen some bits of them and they are playing some good stuff. Will probably make the play offs and go up, knowing them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not heard that for a while but wouldn’t surprise me. When they only had made a few signings and we had 5 or 6 in the door, none of our new players would get in their team.
Binner watch on 23:23 - Sep 30 with 3134 views | mutters | I've been returning to that thread for a wee while now. It's great. You can sense the mood is slowly changing that we might actually have a chance of staying up. Delap was written off as a stupidly expensive signing, now he might be one of only a few who are Premier quality

Last season was excellent on that board, the realisation slowed dawned that we weren't going away, and that we might luckily get promoted. Honestly, it beautiful to read at times because they are so tribalised (is that a word?) that they can't see the wood from the trees. Not saying some of our fans are different but it's lovely to see. At the moment it seems that our promising start is just down to McKenna, who will shortly be off to Manure United and then we will slide back into our rightful position as #2 in the region. Any cups that we've won are of course too far in the past have any relevance on our standing. Can't wait to prove them wrong 😁

It’s not luck that they’ve been able to sell-on their players for big money. It’s down to good player recruitment and having a good coaching set-up. Both of which were lacking by us whilst under Marcus Evans. We’re still playing catch-up on the scouting network. The trouble with Norwich’s model is that once you’ve accepted to being a yo-yo club, other clubs catch up to you and then overtake.

No I dont see the irony. I was present when Mr Gunn missed his footing and the ball bobbled then trickling into the Churchmans goal. We laughed so much I thought the bloke next to me was going to have a heart attack. The name also plays with words reflecting the adverts for the, I imagine now defunct, Yellow Pages. Which ran on about a J.R Hartly who wanted a copy of a book he had written. That is "Flyfishing" by JR Hartly. I admit it is probably a generational thing. But if we are not true to our own time what are we ?

I have no problem with your Budgie mockery, in fact I think it's a natural consequence of being a Town fan from Suffolk. I'm still going to point out that the irony of your post / username and the justification for your choice of username are not mutually exclusive.

Fair enough. However I live in what is now Norfolk. We were down graded in 1880. Not that I was there then but my house was and I am pleased (Coming from a Felixstowe family) that my deeds state quite clearly SUFFOLK. Those that live in peace in "safe" Blue parts of the county dont know what it is like on the borders where the rivalry is locally intense.

Thanks for the info. Out of interest: What do you think is the percentage split of Town/Nodge support in Felixstowe? Does that split fluctuate much with relegations/promotions of the two clubs? Are there pro-Nodge or pro-Town pubs, shops or even churches in the town?

There are Budgies everywhere, yes even in Ipswich. But I would estimate no more than 5-10% (compared to Town supporters) in Felixstowe. They have done well recently of course (meaning over the last 15 years) so that may be higher. Before that they were a rarity. Further up the coast in Lowestoft (that I also know well) it is more of 50/50 split. But remember they are only 25 miles from Nodge and 45 from Portman Road Here in Gorleston in recent times it seemed like every crack in the road had a yellow shirt. But for some reason they dont seem to be so prominent over the last couple of years. Funny that.
