Bit of a lightbulb moment 14:11 - Nov 26 with 3322 views | Ftnfwest | but it's suddenly hit me that we're all sitting here this week feeling more than a bit disappointed that we haven't beaten Man Utd in a league game
Bit of a lightbulb moment on 14:22 - Nov 26 with 3209 views | Swansea_Blue | Yep. That’s my overriding feeling. Along with a little bit of awe about how this team has managed to step up again and how slick they’re looking. They’ve got no right given half of them were in L1 with us. It’s nuts.

Morsy leaves me gobsmacked most weeks really. How does that shoulder drop still work so often!

I think if you can make a case for one team winning that game then it’s certainly us. Apart from a couple of great saves from their keeper & we’d have won it comfortably.

His courage must be seriously inspirational! Still happy to go and get the ball off the backline in 'dangerous' high press situations. Doesn't care who he smashes and still shrugs people off when in possession. This will sound absolutely stupid, but I couldn't help watching on Sunday and thinking what a huge difference he would have made in the United midfield. Blue tinted specs I know... Imagine if KM would have got hold of him a couple of years earlier. A scary thought!

I genuinely think he might be one of the strongest men in the world. His upper body strength is ridiculous, I'd love to play against him just once to see it up close.

Amorim said the same thing, three excellent saves from Onana.

I think if you watched our last 4 games without any context as to our 'journey' you would believe we're a mid table premier league side. 3 points from the 2 away games is about what we've deserved on balance, could've got something at Brentford but on balance probably fair. 2 from the 2 home games is less that we've warranted. We were robbed by the ref against Leicester and the better team for all but the 1st and last 10 minutes (when we were down to 10 men), and tbh I thought we were the better team Sunday too. They had more of the ball but Onana was MOTM which tells its own story. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yeah agreed. We’ve now got a decent little run of games where hopefully we can pick up the points we actually deserve. What we’ve done in the past few games is show that we truly belong at the level, now we need to take that confidence & get some wins under our belt, if we can do that I believe we can stay up relatively comfortably.

Yeah agreed, we've picked up points in 7 of the 10 games since Man City, we've definitely shown we can compete. Next 5 on paper look like ones we shouldn't fear. Would it be greedy to want 8 points from them so we're on 1ppg after Newcastle?

Yeah I think we should be aiming to be on 19 points after 19 games.

On the pitch he looks serious wide/broad… in person (as we almost walked into one one going round the corner in the gym a few weeks back) upper body (whilst still athletic) he isn’t as ‘massive’ as I had in my mind he would be. Leg wise, fcking tree trunks! So that’s ultimately where get gets his power from.

Bit of a lightbulb moment on 16:24 - Nov 26 with 2545 views | Churchman | Sunday was an odd feeling. Utter disbelief and pride in watching my team walk out in a Premier league game against Man United. Something I never thought I’d see again. I looked around the ground at the changes. Ok, lots to do including the East and possibly West Stands, facilities, area behind Churchmans etc. but the ground looked smart in its black makeover, clean, tidy, pitch A1, bright. It looked loved again. I thought of the new training ground, the details of which it turns out look far more comprehensive than I first thought, the community work, the womens’ game (I’m a great believer in sport for all, to use the 70s slogan) and a host of other things the club is doing. I felt pride in how the team played and went about it. And yes, I felt a tinge of disappointment we didn’t win it. The contrast to the Evans years in every way is staggering.

I remember threads on here 3 years ago to the effect that 'it may take years to get Town back to to the Prem' and "I doubt it will happen in my lifetime' and yes here we are, up there, competing and as a soppy old Town fan I couldn't be prouder of the current team So to the Yanks, Ashton, MvKenna, the team, the staff, Ed, TWTD and the fans ..... thank you all

Oh looks it’s the fat lad from Tranmere. Him wrestling whilst we were in League 1 & some fans lapping it up was incredibly embarrassing when you look back on it.

Thing is, I tend to look at it a bit differently. Not so much embarrassing as more - the only vaguely bright spark in an absolutely dismal time. As a fan, you have to celebrate and enjoy something, otherwise its pointless Obviously I wouldn't swap now for then etc ... but its all relevant.

I do wonder if, now he's in the Prem, Morsy might get more call-ups for Egypt - and actually get used this time.

What happened to that "No wood" 10+pager? Searched but can't find it - has it been a victim of Gav's pruning I wonder? 🤔

I’ve been amazed at how well Morsy has done in the PL. Terrific player and strikes me as an even better bloke. He really is the captain. He is alert to everything and I noticed again on Sunday how good and engaged he is with the mascots. A little thing, but important. He will in future years be looked on as one of the best Captains we ever had. To date he’s made 139 appearances for us and after he finishes he will be rightly regarded as a proper ITFC legend.
