Five at the back tomorrow, Clarke at RWB? 16:53 - Dec 2 with 1888 viewsBellevue_Blue

Delap
J.Clarke - Hutchinson
Cajuste - Morsy
Davis - Greaves - Burgess - O'Shea - H.Clarke
Muric

With Axel out I wouldn't be against going with a more defensive back 5. Get Greaves back in and Clarke can contribute going forward.

As ever, when these threads come up, we are not going to change the shape or formation that we've played with almost exclusively for the past few years. It will be the same shape as always.

Those there comes a point where it becomes stubborn as it's to our detriment.

I just hope Johnson is fit enough to play.

Doubt very much we will, at home anyway. But these injuries are really p1ssing me off now. We really can't afford any more of them.

And who as well. If we lose Delap we really are in trouble. But, out of the backline, a lack of Tuanzebe was really exposed in the three games he missed. Johnson was showing promise before he picked up a further injury. Part of me feels take the pain tomorrow if he's not 100% and ensure he is fully fit before playing him. Because if he aggravates something and misses more matches because of it...

What like v spurs away. That was 5 4 1 off the ball and 3 4 3 on the ball.

a niche perspective

I've said all season we should go five at the back. Davis plays more as a winger anyway and it leaves us short at the back against good teams. O'Shea, Greaves and Burgess is a solid base.

Wouldn't be against it.

Rather Burns at RWB than Clarke though. Hope he proves me wrong but I just do not rate Clarke at all.

We've done that a lot this season, not just in the Spurs game. Definitely did it against Villa.

The shape is flexible enough to morph into either but certainly against City & Spurs we have played more of a back 5.

Ben Johnson certainly wasn't playing RW!
