We are in games but came undone by a penalty v Forest and a quick break and neat finish v Palace. Small moments that become big moments. We’re not that far off but the question remains how to turn it around so we’re the ones on the right side of close games. That we’re nearly good enough to mix it with lower half established teams is encouraging. Different story if we were getting battered.

We looked a better team when Broady came on. Hope he can stay fit and get a run of games.

A couple days extra rest should give us a slight advantage v Bournemouth

Lot of games to be played yet. Lot of points to be won.

Being in games is a minimum requirement. We need to find a way to unlock games and take advantage of any possession we have. We could still be playing today and still not have scored.

Exactly thing. Not a lot more to say. We’re close but not quite. We got to much, much to soon!

Just walked past the ground. Can confirm we still haven’t scored.

We're we on a promising attack only to pass the ball all the way back to Muric again?

None of our players, other than Omari when he went wide late on, had the confidence to take a man on. We went for the easy back pass every fcuking time.

We're definitely in games and being competitive as you say. That's our last 6 games now where we've seen all outcomes - a win, draws, defeats, and none of the defeats by more than a goal. Obviously that doesn't get you anything, but given we've played the likes of Spurs, Man United, Forest away, and established PL sides in Brentford and Palace it is a sign of how far we've come in a very short space of time that we're in these games throughout.

We're well organised and competitive, and there's no lack of effort. Unfortunately its just not quite enough to get our heads above water, and we lack a bit of quality and depth in crucial areas. Inevitable perhaps given the base we've started from and speed of our ascent to the top flight.

Whatever happens we need to enjoy the ride and know we're in safe hands. If we go back down then we'll do so in a much stronger and sustainable position than we've been in at that level for donkeys years. Its not out of the question that we stick a couple of wins together and things start looking a bit more promising though, we need to stick with it and support the team whatever happens as there's certainly no lack of effort or desire.

The results suggest we're not far off but the second half at Forest and the whole game last night were very poor from a performance point of view, and that's the real concern.

Yes, back to Muric. Then he’ll linger on the ball. See a blue shirt open. Decide not to pass to him and instead go sideways with a short pass.

Be careful when thinking you're "in games" in the Premier League. I've seen this said after games this season and we've been anything but in them.

It might feel that way because the score is low but did the other team have to even find another gear? Palace created 3x the amount of "good" chances we did (1).

to clarke, who then runs backwards towards the corner flag, to remember he has no left foot, then sweep a chipped ball up towards Burns who's standing infront of him, and then the ball bounces off a palace player and ends up to finding Morsy who passes it back to Oshea who passes to Greaves who passes it back to Muric, who then passes to Clarke, who then runs towards his own corner flag...

a niche perspective

Can you explain Too much too soon?

I cant see a scenario now where any team goes up with a premiership ready squad. It simply will not happen. You go up when you can and you make a fist of it.

Going up, down up maybe the only way in terms of allowing the club to grow financially so that on the second promotion you can buy what you need.

Its all frustrating but I don't understand this get promoted too soon rhetoric.
