I am looking to buy a few really nice, thick cut steaks, any recommendations?

It's not cheap, but the steaks from the butchers at Suffolk Food Hall are very very good.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Thanks I've not tried there could be a good shout - i'm looking for somewhere that will cut them to size, need to be about 1.5-2 inches thick. It's a one-off so don't mind paying if it's great quality.

Swiss Farm will do this not sure about Suffolk Food Hall, though I expect so. Can confirm the quality of SFH.

alas that is a bit far afield for me. I remember last time i walked past it many years ago they had rabbits and venison caught / shot locally which i was very impressed by.

Another vote for Suffolk Food Hall from me.

Friday St farm shop (Snape / Aldeburgh way) is also very good.

Neither will be very friendly to your wallet though!

Honestly not sure there is a decent baker in Ipswich anymore.

The twin threat of supermarkets and greggs has killed them all.

Mad to think back in the day Newsteads and Tooks had many retail outlets and survived, thrived even just by selling bread, rolls and cakes.

Martin's on Woodbridge Road East. Always been good and has remained there despite a Greggs opening a few shops down several years ago.

Debmans on Cliff Lane is excellent - great quality and competitively priced. And he's a Town fan.

I buy my lunch in there once every week or two to help support them.

They do a great cheese and ham salad baguette!

Reubens in Melton train station is a great butchers/deli/scotch egg retailer, would recommend for sure.

Are they still there? I could be totally wrong but thought they had closed down there.
