Team tonight then…. 11:30 - Dec 30 with 6793 views | itfcjoe | Muric O’Shea Woolf Greaves/Burgess Davis Morsy Phillips/Cajuste Johnson/Burns Omari Szmodics/Clarke Delap Those are my 4 calls but I’d go with Greaves, Phillips, Johnson and Szmodics Obviously some fitness queries in there - imagine the second CM and Greaves the main ones effected

Team tonight then…. on 11:45 - Dec 30 with 4632 views | Steve_M | I would be expecting Burgess back in for this one and Cajuste to start given how little Greaves has played and the midfield sub on Friday. Phillips to come on for 30 minutes with us 1-0 ahead then. Maybe....

Team tonight then…. on 11:49 - Dec 30 with 4594 views | unstableblue | Difficult call tonight A few observations - it was a back 5 at The Emirates in the first half as Johnson and Davis sat in full back positions. And OShea wasn’t really a full back at anytime. Perhaps it was a back 4 at times in the second half when Johnson moved forward and OShea did move wider. But we need some more attacking intent, and Johnson looked a bit loose; so play Burns but deeper than usual at home to give us some solidity. Davis has been much better of late as a defender which will help. Wolfenden grew into the game, despite the error on their goal. So keep his place. Tough on Greaves but bring back Burgess to deal with Jackson. I would love to see Phillips and Cajuste continue, at the expense of Morsy. Not going to happen and I know Arsenal was only a few days ago. But Phillips was back to his best come the end of the game in North London. Omari is off the boil, but too good to drop out and his old club are the opponents. So it’s ———————- Muric OShea—-Wolf———-Burgess—-Davis Burns———-Morsy—Cajuste ————————Hutchinson——-Szmodics —————————Delap Muric is doing pretty well in my view Wouldn’t surprise me if we see Chaplin and/or Clarke coming in for Omari and/or Szmodics

Team tonight then…. on 12:04 - Dec 30 with 4387 views | StockholmBlue | Would like to give Broadhead and Chaplin decent enough of minutes on the pitch tonight. Think they both have deserved more time, and have done well when coming on. Do not know whether they should start or finish the game. But would like to see this at some point: Muric or Walton O'Shea Burgess Greaves Davies Phillips Cajuste Hutchinson Chaplin Broadhead Delap

I do think Phillips and Cajuste is the best midfield pairing we have when fit.

Team tonight then…. on 12:06 - Dec 30 with 4347 views | BrockleyBlue78 | Same XI that started against Arsenal except Morsy for Philips They’re too good not to go with the back 5 again, even at home Hopefully the ball will stick with the front 3 better than against Arsenal, and with a little more composure, quality and luck up top we will fair better Come on town | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Johnson needs a run of games, he had started to show promise until he got injured.

Team tonight then…. on 12:17 - Dec 30 with 4139 views | GlasgowBlue | As much as we all love Sam Morsy, if we have any chance of staying up out midfield has to be the players from Napoli and Manchester City. I completely agree with Blue Monday when they say that we need to get all of our players with Premier League experience in the team.

IF both are fit, that has to be out midfield duo, but can both do another 60 0dd minutes so soon after Arsenal, I don't think they can. What I do hope thos is KM has relised that Morsy needs to come off as much as cajuste did around 65 minutes,,

To be fair, they've not exactly been over worked so far this season, and they are not old players. I don't think its a stretch to start them both.

Will be the biggest call of KM’s career to drop Morsy. Not against it but has Phillips really shown this season that he’s any better ?

Team tonight then…. on 12:33 - Dec 30 with 3925 views | NeverSayDie | Really tough call tonight to get the formation right, let alone the starting XI, but personally I’d like to see us stick with the 3 CB’s, but with a strong emphasis on paying the opposition far less respect when we are in possession than we did vs Arsenal, defend resolutely and counter swiftly. The pressure of it being a home game may well sway towards the familiar 4231, but I think this would be a mistake. In terms of personnel (regardless of formation) I think there’ll be a couple of changes; I don’t think Phillips will start and Morsy/Cajuste is rekindled in the middle, Szmodics is at risk in favour of Chaplin/Clarke and H Clarke could get a start in front of Johnson, Burgess likely to return (if injury free). Best guess with no idea of the fitness of the squad in terms of injury/illness 🤷♂️

I agree, but it will be morsy Cajuste, Unless we've been saving Phillips at a 100k which is very doubtful lol Would be Phillips be surprised if he can play two games especially against that quality from no starts,

I think that we won't start Phillips twice in four days after so little football this season. A fully fit Phillips on the other hand, probably starts more games than he doesn't.

But has to be said that Morsy dictates the way we play, so good on the ball and rarely gives it away, think he starts tonight but Phillips did look much better at Arsenal no doubt..
