Only yesterday, Farage was hailing Musk as a free speech champion.
What a shame. | |

Unlikely to say this often (if ever again), but putting my political bias aside; Well done Nigel Farage. I respect him for holding the line on this even if it puts potential funding at risk.

Reform was set up by Farage to feed his ego and feed his bank account Very little chance that he will step down as Leader methinks | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not that at all and nothing has been said that Musk wants TR as a part of Reform. He wants Reform to recognise that TR being held in solitary for contempt of court is not what would happen to anyone else for the same charge. Personally I cannot stand TR but Reform distancing themselves from TR can be done while condoning his treatment but I guess as he is enemy number 1 then noone gives two hoots until it affects them.

Where has it been confirmed that he is being held in solitary for contempt of court? (any links to validate that?) Officially people are only held in solitary for their own safety or because of disruptive behaviour/violence in prison so it's pretty unlikely he is being held in solitary (if true) because of the offence for which he was imprisoned.

I mean he’s a knob and a troll so there’s that. But if I had to guess I think it’s down to mainstream left wing parties becoming obsessed with tiny minority issues and their personal investment in maintaining the status quo, as opposed to issues most people think are important and actual genuine change.

he's a complete knob. but you also have to understand why his nasty one liners get traction and resonate with many people. first, there is often a sufficient grain of truth, however distorted and partial his take may be. second, he picks up on issues where the establishment line is always there's nothing to see here, this topic is strictly off limits, and if you so much as mention it you're a very bad person. he is filling a vacuum of political issues which have been declared no go zones in terms of decent, reasoned political discussion. it's an incredibly dangerous situation to have created.

Why do I need to respond? It's common knowledge. Whatever your views on the person someone being sent down for 18 months and put in solitary for a civil case is quite frightening.

i'm pretty certain the contempt was criminal. if he had followed the high court order after the civil case he wouldn't have been arrested and tried for contempt. [Post edited 6 Jan 23:15]

Do you believe that "tiny minority issues" had anything to do with him purchasing his own media platform, starting a company that drills into the earth, starting a satellite communication platform, or starting his own space program? This isn't difficult to figure out. He's a megalomaniac bent on world domination and he knows that stoking hatred and fear will create political instability that he can exploit for personal gain. He isn't a humanitarian and he isn't acting on behalf of anyone other than himself.

A response is needed because you’ve asserted something that is highly improbable. People are NOT put into solitary confinement because of the offence they are convicted of. Prisoners are individually risk assessed and could be placed in solitary for their own safety OR because they pose a risk to others OR because of their behavior inside What evidence do you have, if it’s “common knowledge ” you will have some sources or evidence otherwise it’s just made up rubbish that his gullible supporters have swallowed and repeating. Secondly people aren’t sent to prison for civil offences, (unless they fail to pay the compensation due but that then became a separate criminal offence) only criminal convictions so that’s just factually incorrect too [Post edited 7 Jan 8:02]
