You don't bring on more defenders when we were effectively defending with a back 5 already, there were no gaps to fill and doing really well defensively. We needed an out-ball and that's a bit of an issue with AHH - hopefully that'll be sorted in the next couple of weeks.

Davis did it because he thinks he can shake his head and wave his finger and this will convince the referee he didn't touch him. Even though the ref can clearly see he's tripped him and even if he wasn't sure can check with VAR for another look.

I don't believe either owe anyone an apology or anything else for that matter for all they've done for the club. And whilst Leif's challenge was completely unnecessary, I can see how he came to do it.
However, Morsy's was utter madness, no idea what he thought he was trying to do. He was nowhere near getting the ball and their player was being shadowed by two of ours. I would be genuinely intrigued to hear what his thought process was there.

Morsy's really is very poor IMO.
In terms of individual errors resulting in opposition goals I think it's comparable to anything we've seen from Muric. It's a total brain fart. He's got absolutely no business making a challenge but looked like he just couldn't resist making contact.
Obviously he's been a fantastic captain and has plenty of credit in the bank, but I think he'd admit he's lost his head there. |  | | |
