Interesting what Kieran Maguire says here.... I met a Canadian family in the pub before the Wolves game who'd flown over for the game, were fully kitted out in Wolves Merch and were 'massive fans' who had never been to Wolverhampton before and had no association but had selected them as their EPL team...imagine their horror when they turned up at the station...

Tourists at Premier League games on 12:57 - Jan 7 by JammyDodgerrr | It's been painfully obviously for a while that the real problem clubs have in the PL is season ticket holders. They'd love to reduce them so they can sell more day tickets. Unfortunately just a matter of time. |
I agree with your worry. For me it's a matter of "What about the future". The parent taking their child to a match to pass on the passion is what will keep clubs like Ipswich going in 10, 20, 40 years time. Dad used to take me then I used to take my daughter but now she takes me. The future is long term in football. By all means increase the capacity and allow a small proportion of "disinterested holidaymakers". But. Be aware that they will NOT be here next week, nor the one after that. And that while they are here they will add ZERO to the atmosphere. They are just there to suck it up.

Now they could just be Dutch fans who live in London and have supported Fulham for donkeys, but if they are, they didn’t know any Fulham songs. They didn’t shut up talking from the first whistle to the last. Was getting on my t1ts. Couldn’t get shteve out of my head.

Tourists at Premier League games on 12:28 - Jan 7 by giant_stow | Yeah a German game is high on the wish list, especially St Pauli funnily enough. Is it just noisier over there? At Marseille, the fans never stopped, from about 15 mins before kick-off right to the end. |
I'm off to Dynamo Dresden next month. 30,000 in the third tier. It's meant to be quite lively.

I don't have a season ticket, so I'm in competition with everyone else that wants a ticket. I've been to lots of games as a tourist and it's a great experience. I always cheer for the home team though, and buy my tickets through official club channels. What I do object to though is fellow fans exploiting other fans by selling tickets on for vastly inflated prices. I think that's a really low act, especially as it's so easy to sell your ticket back to clubs and get your money back.

Tourists at Premier League games on 13:34 - Jan 14 with 592 views | Friedie | Looking forward to the Brighton match on Thursday (my 53rd Ipswich game since 2006). Living in Germany I wouldn't describe myself as tourist and also not our Fortuna Blues group, as we are an official supporters club. We are not coming over for the Premier League, we're coming over for TOWN! Cheers! Friedie https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/24839367.fortuna-fans-watch-ipswich-vs-bright

Clubs would be daft to push it so far that they lose that.

Love the Fortuna connection and delighted you guys make the trip over Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but how will Fortuna fans have managed to get tickets, especially when it seems like a lot more locally-based fans are struggling? Surely can't be season ticket holders? and It would be a massive coincidence to all be successful in the same ballot? [Post edited 14 Jan 15:08]

I'd highly recommend going to Bundesliga games, have taken my lad to St Pauli and Union Berlin, atmosphere and experience are very different to UK games. |
very jealous you managed to get into St. Pauli! was virtually impossible while I was In Hamburg last season
