Is Enciso needed? 19:14 - Jan 21 with 4979 views | ITFCBlues | 7 players who can play that role now. Surely there's other areas more pressing? I think we're desperate for a CM myself. Enciso Philogene Hutchinson Chaplin Szmodics Broadhead Clarke You'd think there's going to be someone moving out.

Is Enciso needed? on 19:28 - Jan 21 by Trequartista | I'd argue they're not getting the ball much because central midfield is a weak area where we are being dominated. [Post edited 21 Jan 19:29]

I would argue they are getting lots of the ball and losing it especially Omari and Delap

Is Enciso needed? on 19:16 - Jan 21 by portmanking | McKenna craves 6 players to rotate across his front 3 behind the striker. There we have it. Plus, Szmodics is out for some time... |
We're currently only playing with 2 from that list, unless we are reverting back to our hybrid formation (which is maybe why we've brought in Godfrey to fill the Tuanzabe role if he's injured).

Is Enciso needed? on 19:52 - Jan 21 by GlasgowBlue | If we are judging players by the Newcastle game then we need to replace the entire eleven who started. No one came out of that game with any credit. I'm not advocating this btw. Just have a hunch that is the club's thinking and we will strengthen elsewhere. |
No a robust centre forward definitely required Hirst has spells out with injuries no way is McKenna having to play szmodics or anyone else if Delap unavailable.

It wasn't the individual performance, it was just that we had no outlet to go long which as we've seen recently, is pretty important if we are to get up the pitch. I'd be shocked if this has even entered their heads as a viable option. [Post edited 21 Jan 20:27]

I love how some people are judging Szmodics on 1 game where the whole team were woeful. He can do a job as the central striker no doubt. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You might be right, probably are, but we're starting to look a bit unbalanced on the left. (main positions for McKenna only) Left AM Philogene Clarke Szmodics Broadhead Centre AM Enciso Chaplin Right AM Hutchinson Burns Does feel that someone could move out and one in on the right (Doak?). Unless the plan is to use Szmodics as a no10. [Post edited 21 Jan 20:47]

Is Enciso needed? on 20:47 - Jan 21 with 800 views | Vaughan8 | When I heard we're looking at him on the news travelling home, I did think we have quite a lot of these small/weedy (or both) players. Surely if he comes its because someone is out for most of the season or is off out either on loan or permanently.

Sammy being expected to fill the Delap/Hirst role was stupid by KM who should have adjusted his tactics to make the most of the players he had available but KM doesn't do things like that. He likes his round holes and banging square pegs into them.

Agree with this. Newcastle knew they could press even higher and harder as we had no out ball option.

Omari has dribbled into a trouble a few times in the last few games when a pass was on admittedly, but in general it feels like when Omari or Broadhead or Jack Clarke get the ball, they have to produce something as it could be awhile before they get it again.
