Is McKenna safe from the sack 16:21 - Jan 25 with 9548 views | floridaboy | Appreciate what he has achieved but is he out of his depth in the Premier league. More changes again! Some players safe from being dropped! Has he lost how to motivate the players! He has spent a lot on players who don't seem to be able to produce the necessary end result! IS HE SAFE FROM THE SACK! Any other team in our current position would have changed the manager. Why is he deemed safe by the owners!!

Is McKenna safe from the sack on 16:35 - Jan 25 with 1466 views | Denny32 | The problem I have with mckenna is that he only wants to bring in a certain type of player in ..and that worrys me....if you look at a lot of players in other teams..they are big .Powerful..touch of arrogance and flair ..mckenna only wants mild mannered light players .

Is McKenna safe from the sack on 16:26 - Jan 25 by Nthsuffolkblue | The manager who has taken the team from a mid-table League 1 side on the slide to fighting to stay in the Premier League, level on points with safety? I am glad Mark Ashton is in charge of these decisions rather than some reactionary fan! |
Always been the way though sadly, and we haven't broken the fans who only turned up when we were winning into what it means to be a football fan yet. I'm not sure what they expected, playing league leaders at home who've lost only once in the league all season, who actually comfortably beat us start of the season. Still it should quieten those moaning about not getting tickets for a while, always look at the positives 😀
Is McKenna safe from the sack on 16:38 - Jan 25 with 1427 views | cressi | I think his safe but have never looked at him as God like some. I believe most good managers would have got us out of league 1 with the Americans resources. Also remember Cooke signed a lot of those players McKenna moulded them. Then the championship we played with momentum and over achieved. This season I'm not convinced we have bought well or McKenna has a plan B. Since his arrival subs are generally made around 65 minutes and usually like for like. I hope we pull away and stay up,

I know! It’s so bizarre. I just don’t get it. I mean look at Philogene, Hutchinson, Enciso… how many versions of the same player do you want in one club!?

Mild-mannered players like Delap? People are looking for things that aren't there.

Is McKenna safe from the sack on 16:22 - Jan 25 by Trequartista | For me, if we are relegated, he is the best choice to get us up again. |
That isn’t exactly a glowing endorsement of his performance in the premier league to date.
Is McKenna safe from the sack on 16:51 - Jan 25 with 1325 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I should imagine Espirito Santo must be facing the sack. Just blown his chances in their title challenge by being thrashed 5-0 by Bournemouth. [Post edited 25 Jan 16:55]

Totally prepared for this, and of course we will lose him and some point and we will wish him well. But if we stay up, there is surely at least a chance of him staying next season. He's still very young, he's on a really good contract, and he is so level-headed and sensible that he knows that for every Alex Ferguson there are plenty of Graham Potters. Would he definitely be given the time to have an impact at a new club? Would he have to deal with more mental owners/CEOs? He knows he'll get a bigger job one day. I see that it's likely that he goes, even if we stay up, but I don't see it as totally inevitable.

I think that we stay up there is every chance he stays. I think that if we go down, there are few clubs who would attract him that would move for him. He is doing a fantastic job here and he is being well backed. He isn't going to jump at the chance to join a basket-case club.

Is McKenna safe from the sack on 16:28 - Jan 25 by BlibbiBlob1976 | I’m unsure if he is hot enough property for an established Prem team to want him. Maybe he has enough in the bank from the last two years, maybe he doesn’t. Certainly this season will have done nothing to enhance his reputation. And he is paid an absolute fortune |
I think you are incorrect. This season has probably enhanced his reputation as we have been very competitative in many of the games with half the squad having played at league one level. What he has achieved this season should not be underestimated, a lesser talented manager and we could be where Southampton are. He is not paid an absolute fortune in relative terms. It's probably a lot of money to you and me but he's 14th in the table of PL managers wages so below average wage . Pep earns over 6 times as much.
Is McKenna safe from the sack on 17:20 - Jan 25 with 1157 views | IndependentlyBlue | Yes, he is safe from the sack. In reply to your last question, I suspect he is deemed safe by the owners because he has done a wonderful job since he came here. I’ve tried to make my reply easy for you to understand because l guess you may need that.

Is McKenna safe from the sack on 17:36 - Jan 25 with 1095 views | BlueForYou | I think it's a very valid question to ask, but most of us would say he's safe. I'd like to see something different on the pitch, two up front for instance, maybe play 442 to get more grit into the midfield which is being overrun in every game recently. Try to get stuck in & harass the opposition all over the pitch, not just all ten in behind.
