Work from home - ideas and opportunities 11:31 - Jan 31 with 2192 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | As a 52yo man I've found myself currently off work for 4 months with severe depression. I have good and bad days which means I cannot return to work working in sales (both face to face and telephone). I'm starting to accept I may not be able to return to the job I've done for over 30 years. Is anyone aware of WFH jobs that can be completed at anytime. Due to my depression my sleep pattern is all over and a job I could complete at the times I'm able would be ideal. I was thinking of some sort of data input but open to the collective brain of TWTD

It is not nice, especially if coupled with severe anxiety. Not all Bosses understand it either. I will have a think at what sort of thing you could do. But my thoughts are with you. Are you having counselling? take care JR

Sorry to hear you're suffering mr. Just a random thought really, but web work is very flexible and even if you don't have the skills now, you can pick them up, especially if you have sleepless nights to fill to train yourself. Just a thought - apologies if its wide of the mark.

Good call on doing online training. I WFH doing cyber security. Researching digital online jobs is a good thought. Try asking chatgpt a line of questioning around online work, can give some directionality to work. Good luck, one day at a time, its not about the past, its about the future.

Some transactional jobs in finance like accounts payable can be done whenever suits. Best wishes.

Work from home - ideas and opportunities on 21:06 - Jan 31 with 1256 views | FBI | Not for everyone but I found myself in precisely that position at 55. I now sell vintage & retro on Etsy (eBay for Waitrose people) from home and wish I'd done it years go. Me & Mrs FBI go out around charity shops, car boots, etc hunting down stuff and turning it into a day out; the marketing, listing and general business running is fantastically stimulating and a better treatment than Citalopram. Plus I'm actually making a living at it. Is there something you love or at least enjoy that you can somehow monetise? As I say, not for everyone and this was my own personal story but what I definitely would say is well done for speaking up; it's incredibly hard and it was a big step to do that. I'm always happy to listen if you need a dispassionate ear to bend - just DM me. Dave

If you have experience of talking on the phone in your sales role, presumably communication via email as well then that could work well. Generally just need to know your way around a spreadsheet and system and you’re good to go.
