I don't understand the attacks he is getting, he played no worse than Hutchinson.

He was not the reason we lost today's game.

For me, Greaves, Hutchinson, Davis and Muric were poor today.

We lacked any sort of drive, we seemed too passive and worried about making a mistake the complete opposite to how we played last season. I think that is what McKenna will be most disappointed in

It is more an attack on the transfer. It is too early for him to be the game changer we currently need. Another young lightweight 10, I don't think he offers anything different to what we already have. Entirely not his fault. Does not look good value at the moment.

Should that drive not be coming from Morsy? Cajuste certainly tried.
Philogene looked lost; whether that was down to him, or Mckenna, or both, who knows?

2 players, at £20m each. Being that ineffective… and you can’t see the issue?

Agreed. Philogene didn't get into the game but Hutch was the real puzzlement today...such a blend of booked and out-of-position defenders to run at should have been paradise, but he seems to have stopped skinning defenders, and instead just slows to walking pace and then seems to try to run straight through them. Ignoring a lot of passing options too...I'm sure it's just a dip in form, but he's looked a little like the same level of ineffectual that he was in his first few games for us lately...

People lash out when they are angry - there's a lot of anger and disappointment on here tonight.

The fact is that KM has tried to develop the team, but it hasn't worked (yet at least) and this has been compounded by the fact that this season's PL have not really had an underperforming "established" team for an extended period. Wolves and Everton have turned their seasons around leaving the promoted teams in the hole.

I console myself with the knowledge that we've had 3 amazing years and the club is in a far better shape than it was under Evans etc. Our success in the last 3 years has set standards that are impossible to maintain, and whether fans like it or not, this season was always going to be a reality check.

I refuse to slate players or the manager as I am sure they are all trying their best, but it's not quite been good enough for extended periods.

Unfortunately, him, Hutchinson and J Clarke costing us a combined £55m, has killed us. We needed, just a fraction of that, spend on a decent keeper and CM.

No one was shouting at Hutchinson though, they all seemed to attack Philogene after his first 10 minutes.

Agree the one issue KM seems to have is a desire for signing no. 10s rather than focusing on what is actually needed.

Although he can be forgiven for thinking Cajuste and Phillips were decent signings at our level.

Philogene played 20 odd minutes after a week of training, every club has their idiots, opinions and observations are fine, but anyone judging him on that isn’t worth paying attention too.

Moder off to Feyenoord at £1.2 million last week. Experienced Prem player in an area we desperately need strengthening. Compare it to the tens of millions we have been paying for players with no Prem experience like J Clarke and Philogene and I really wonder what MA and McK is up to in the transfer market.

We must be viewed as suckers by Sunderland, Villa, Burnley etc who are laughing all the way to their bank.

Walking out of the ground I must have heard philogenes name more than anyone.

He was not the reason we conceded 2 goals to a team who I though was the worst team I have ever seen play at this level.

A fraction of 55million spent on a decent PL midfielder and GK?

Love it. It’s really simple.

Who?

Probably because of the long-drawn saga to sign him + cost + being another no. 10 - much viewed as an unnecessary signing to most when we are desperately in need for a CM, ST and GK

Give him a break. He's just watch the team he (and most of us) love lose a crucial game - and is p****d off and angry.

Just as hacked off as you are.

But insulting the likes of Omari, who are trying their best at the elite level of our sport and often being flogged for 90+ minutes, just feels like cheap shots to me.

So you're essentially having a painful time accepting that our players may not be quite good enough at this level? That's the reality. It was always likely to be the case.

Spending 130m was necessary to bolster our squad value and ensure we have assets for player trading.

It's gutting that we should be 6-7 points better off than where we are, but we've bought a lot of potential and that may take more than 6 months to be realised.

I wasn't happy we spent what we did on him, but today I actually felt sorry for him.

He replaced Broady (who I thought was finding space) which bemused me, but I thought ok KM wants a bit more pace down the left. But then he moved Philogene to the right and Hutchinson to the middle. Trouble was Hutch kept drifting right, leaving no space between the two. Southampton simply placed an extra player over there to stifle any space which gave Philogene nowhere to go.

I really didn't understand KMs thought process there.
