Absolutely sickens me reading that, mainly because there is enough information to join the dots of what went on. Hopefully when they are sentenced it’s severe.

It blows my mind how widespread these incidents seem to be.

What do you mean by enough info to join the dots?

It's utterly disgusting, and hopefully all 8 get long sentences for it.

But it reminds me of the other grooming gang scandals, and the Gisele Pelicot scandal in France - when men think they can get away with things with no recourse, which they wouldn't in their normal day to day life even think about, no matter what their status is, they seem to just do it

Victim aged between 13 and 15 years old.

Where TF are the parents? My youngest is 17, whilst we no longer police her online activity we do at least know where she is and who she is with at any given moment.

It's not anybody's fault bar the perpetrators of course, and they should be hung by the nuts, but these stories usually begin with a broken home and crap parents.

How they would have groomed and recruited children, and what they would have done inside that house. Obviously the paper couldn’t print that stuff even if it was in the public interest.

My limited experience tells me there probably would have been more victims yet to come forward too.

Some parents are so messed up by their own problems that they can't even look after themselves let alone a kid - it's cycles of abuse and failure

As my wife said, it doesn't matter what background the offenders come from, it's just men abusing women and that's what needs to change.

Won't stop until we start hanging them.

They get new names, new lives and move on after only serving a little of their sentence.

It goes on where there's countries with capital punishment(It's endemic in India, for example). It went on here when there was capital punishment. Capital punishment doesn't work, is costly and is utterly barbaric.

Additionally, I suspect the ringleader will be looking at a decent stretch and (hope)his mates won't get off lightly. Personally, I'm all for letting them spend significant chunks of their lives hoping today isn't the day the screws make a mistake and they get jumped by the other lags rather than getting the easy way out, too.

So is what they do when they re-offend.

I am going to be honest here, I was raped by a 14-year-old boy when I was 7. Since turning 18 I can tell you he's had at least 7 names and has gone on repeatedly rape and molest a number of children (and animals) and has been in and out of prison, involved with groups, and sadly, back out there, with a new name and still at large, now well into his 40's. He appears on a number of websites and recently been on a Facebook sting and got away with a slapped wrist.

Nobody wants to keep them in prison, and people think killing them is more barbaric than letting them re-offend over and over. I can tell you as a survivor, I won't ever get over it and my life/mental health was destroyed before it even got started.

Something needs to stop the monsters.

I'm sorry for what happened to you and see where your feeling comes from.
But sadly, there will always be another monster.

There's no simple solutions just ways of making it harder for them - that means better education for both public and professionals, better safeguards and a better societal attitude both towards victims of SA, women and how we raise men and boys.

There are obviously no words I or most of Twtd can say that negates your experience, I’m truly sorry to read that and hope you are able to get all and any help you need for life.

I’ve always been against the death penalty for the very simple “wrong man” reasons. But I do wonder if there is a feasible solution to something that is a compulsion (I guess serial killers are the parallel).

We used to chemically castrate people seen as sexual deviants, lobotomise the insane etc. are those the lesser of two evils for people who do this over simply killing them? Sorry if I’m trivialising you a little but I genuinely can’t decide what we do.

A “leper colony” type facility somewhere is incredibly expensive too and an undesirable job for those needed to run it, but given how badly we need prison reform perhaps we need to build special facilities?

That's so awful what you went through along with how your mental health is now. It adds to your pain when you see that the perpetrator has been dealt with in such a lenient way. I hope that any counselling you can get can go some way to ease the upset and hurt you still feel. I sincerely hope you can find someone who can help you with your struggles in life and my heart goes out to you.

I am so sorry to read about what you’ve had to endure.

What to do with a creature like that? It should be put away forever, paid for by itself or its family. Rent space in that 40,000 capacity cage in El Salvador? Or replicate it for bits of dirt here?

Ive no idea, but what I do know is for that to be on the streets is an utter, shameful disgrace. The safety of the innocent should come before the wellbeing of the guilty every time.

Our justice system needs reform, desperately.

As others have said, what you have endured is something nobody should ever go through.

Hideous sexual abuse can be a life sentence for those it is perpetrated on, as you yourself have suggested, and I long for the day when these sadistic violators are given a life sentence, which means life.

Under Austerity policies Rapists were let out BEFORE their first parole date on electric tags, to save money. Absolutely sickening.

I think your middle paragraph is the key here. Victims of these creatures are given a life sentence. No time off for ‘good behaviour’ for them. Just living with something that they should never have had to endure.

The perpetrators: Rehab, reform, conditions, concern, let out with tags, parole etc etc. For people who commit unspeakable crimes, I’m interested in none of that. They should be shut away until they’re carried out in a box or incinerated on the premises.
