And that’s what you get when you KEEP giving free kicks away on the edge if your own area by lunging in on tackles you shouldn’t be doing

Its pretty unfortunate for the ball to rebound exactly to the striker's boot like that.

It’ll be interesting to see how Town “ manage” thus game out now. Just about all other teams would engage in shyte housery….. I’d take that approach now if it meant we get a point, which we really deserve in my view

Not great poaching from the striker then?

Not really. 6 inches either side and he doesn;t get it.

That is true every time a striker is in the right place for a save or a rebound. Funny how lucky the top strikers always are.

That wasnt one of those. He was following in, but that rebound fell exceptionally kindly. 1 in a 100 chance.

Fair enough. Thanks for explaining. I haven't seen it hence why I asked.

It's the same with those goal keeper saves from close when people claim the goalie was lucky as it was just whacked against him. People just don't understand that positioning is a massive part of the game and can be the difference in what makes a player great.

Simply wrong on this occasion. He followed in, in a straight line, well covered by a defender, and the ball came, at a split second's notice, right onto his foot.

Incredibly unfortunate, whatever else you say about it.

Rather well.

I look forward to seeing it for myself. I get what you are saying but Watkins is a great player so it will be interesting to see how much he was anticipating it or not.

That was a much harder finish that it looked for Watkins, umpteen times I've seen a striker slice a quick rebound up in the air.

It's not "incredibly unfortunate" - yeah there's always a bit of fortune involved when a ball bounces off a post/bar/other player but the reactions and judgment from Watkins were superb, as was the finish as could very easily have hit him and bounced wide or he could have smashed it over.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Of course, that doesn't happen against us.
