The guy was atrocious. Double standards. Inability to let the game flow. Being ridiculously pedantic over free kicks taken 5cms away from where foul occurred. Having to stop EVERY SINGLE free kick /corner to talk to players.
He really had to make the whole thing about himself didn’t he. An awful, awful official.

One of those refs that didn't really impact the result, but still irritated, especially second half when he seemed determined to make the game as stop start as possible. |  |

Think he did affect the result, not directly with one big decision but broke up the play with silly wrong decisions , the third goal came shortly after the drop ball,that should have been ours… Maddison could be seen waving his winger up so there was no way he was passing it back to us … after their had laid down for no reason at all.
Or when Delap got shoved in the back by 1 defender and the ref gave a free kick against him as he collided with another defender.
Or when Greaves was down when the 4th goal went in… Ok to stop for one team but not the other |  | | |

Totally agree. It seemed that every drop ball he get the need to have a 2
Minute conversation with whichever players were nearest to ensure they understood the rules to the drop ball. On maybe he was just asking them what they watched on tv last night, or their favourite restaurant nearby. The guy was fecking clueless. What did we do to deserve this muppet of a referee three times ..when he has only reffed 25 games in the last 12 months.
All theee home games, no wins, two against bottom half sides, utterly crap.
The amount of stories on this link above from various managers about his ineptitude, manner and arrogance tell their own tale. He should be nowhere near the Premier league.

At 2-1 we were still in the game and I actually, perhaps naively, thought it we could have got an equaliser we’d go on to win.
But I just couldn’t believe when the Spurs defender went down with a head injury the ref waited until the ball went out which would have been our throw in he brings play back and gave the ball back to Spurs, who from this scored the 3rd which ended the game as a contest.
Even worse for the 4th he ignored the head injury completely. Possibly the worst official I’ve seen all season but when my son pointed out it was the same ref who ignored Chaplin being flattened against Leiciester I wasn’t surprised. He didn’t cost us the game but ruined the second half and certainly wanted to be at the centre of everything. | | | |
