The judge did not sound happy with the idea that being MP should save him either. Yet only gave him 10 weeks.

If the recall petition is triggered, a by-election would be very interesting.

It was a 'joke' about him still being eligible to stand Reform but only if he'd assaulted a woman instead only I'd worded to make it even worse.

This is why I shouldn't try and post on here after being on nights.

"Only" 10 weeks?

I thought that was quite harsh tbh.

Really !! How many people were killed by her incitement then?
Assault, rob shops ,go round wielding machetes in broad daylight among other things all ‘normal’ in todays GB I suppose.

Really? He did belt him and threaten him after going back to him. I’m not sure if he will serve less either for good behaviour.

Would you not have jailed him?

You’re talking nonsense. If people had been killed they’d rightly do more time. Pretending they were “just words” because you’re a racist or you sympathise with racists is one of the most unpalatable things about you snowflakes bringing it up every chance you can.

that's not how incitement works, same as if no-one's killed by wielding machetes doesn't mean that it's not illegal, both should be punished.

obviously if you're doing it at a time of heightened tension (or if you're an mp in a position of responsibility), you'll rightly get a more severe sentence

Mmmm racist and a snowflake eh? Just because I believe anybody getting caught breaking the law should face time if it’s serious enough makes me a bad un then!
Let’s face it though IF this had been a Tory or reform mp doing this you lot would have been all over it like a rash!
As for comparing her to a hate preacher that’s going a bit far! Still it’s a wonder our old friend the badger didn’t call her a Nazi that seems to be his buzz word now

No it’s because you’re pretending a criminal offence is “just words” to support racists and bleating about it like a snowflake. There’s not nuance here.

they both broke the law, they both get convicted, they are both doing time according to the law, so what are you clutching your pearls about?

Are you referring to Lucy Connolly? If so, for clarity her tweets called for “mass deportation now”

At the time she had 10K followers on twitter and posted on the day three children were killed in a knife attack in Southport. Her ‘silly words’ called for hotels {housing asylum seekers} to be “set fire to all the f**cking hotels full of the b*****ds for all I care” and concluded “if that makes me racist so be it”.

Those aren’t silly words but actions designed to stir up racial trouble and potentially to cause deaths. She had 10k followers - if just one acted upon her words then there would have been deaths.

Maybe you fully support her tweets sentiments,I don’t know. But freedom of speech has never meant freedom of consequence. And the consequence of her reckless endangerment meant imprisonment.

I doubt if anyone likes that. If someone had a proper fixation of criminality they would support the Tory Party - their criminality far exceeds that of the current Labour administration.
