It's so the local Labour Cllrs can go shopping there rather than deal with horrible loud music.

Toy’R’Us site as a gig venue on 14:29 - Mar 27 with 1602 views | GeoffSentence | Interesting, as the Toys R Us building is in Babergh not Ipswich I wonder what it has to do with IBC. With regards to who the noise would affect, the traffic noise from that junction really carries, and that already affects Copdock and Washbrook, Belstead, Pinebrook and Sproughton. I have no idea how much the noise would be increased by such a venue, if it was at all, but if there was an increase those would be places affected by it.

Toy’R’Us site as a gig venue on 14:32 - Mar 27 with 1588 views | GeoffSentence | I'm not keen on that as a site mostly because pretty much the only way to get there would be by car, it would increase traffic, and that junction is already a fecking nightmare. I'd prefer a town centre site, in close proximity to the station. It might breath a bit of life back into the centre as well, rather than sucking it out as the out of town developments do.

The best place for it would be the practise pitch. Get the extra terrace on top of the stand and then build an event space similar to Melkweg in Amsterdam. Multiple rooms which can hold up to 1500 people for music / comedy / private hire etc. It can then be used as a fan zone on match days. If there’s multiple spaces like Melkweg then there can be an away fan zone in there as well. Walkable from the train station, parking right next door.

Well they have gone for Toys R Us, I believe the site it's on maybe owned Suffolk County Council too so it's an unusual deal IBC own quite a lot of retail outlets and parks around the town now

Toy’R’Us site as a gig venue on 08:05 - Mar 28 with 780 views | Dubtractor | Given that the town now has St Stephens Church and the baths to complement the corn exchange and regent, I can't see how another venue would be needed tbh. Anything new would almost certainly drag people away from those, meaning even more activity taken from the town centre.
