Having rid ourselves of those corrupt tories, we now have a govt we can trust in, free of criminality. Other than the MP who likes to punch people out, the sex abuse one and now the International Arrest Warrant one of course. But this govt is much better though isnt it.

I voted Labour at the last Election.

I feel sorry for the bloke who was being harassed after a night out, and clearly lost the plot. All MPs are under huge pressure all the time, and something snapped inside. But he broke the law, no strings were pulled to cover it up or protect him, and he has been punished. Of course Michael Gove was filmed on a very big night out, when he appeared to be hugely under the influence of something, but his behaviour wasn't consistent with alcohol intoxication. He appeared a bit mollified by it all if anything, maybe Mike Amesbury should follow his example on a night out?

The case of the alleged sex abuse MP is currently subject to legal proceedings, and shouldn't be commented on in a public forum. But it is only right to note that no strings were pulled to cover it up or protect him.
However, at least one Labour MP feels the Party isn't doing enough:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65789649

I am not entirely comfortable with somebody who is so closely related to the ruling elite in a not entirely friendly state being selected as a Labour MP. There is scope for huge conflicts of interests.
But it's not quite the same as appointing a KGB Colonel's son the the House of Lords, and giving him direct access to Confidential briefings.

You may have missed the bit where she's denied it and no evidence has thus far been presented...

You've basically jumped in two-footed with a guilty verdict because she's Labour.

Yes, I feel sorry for a bloke who has lost everything because, on a night out, someone was harassing him and he snapped.

Absolutely right that he has been prosecuted, convicted and punished, but he has lost disproportionately more than most other men caught up in a fight after hours, and in this case was provoked until he reacted.

So I see it as a waste of a career, and a personal tragedy. Had he started on the other bloke I would have no sympathy, but he was being baited when he just wanted a night out.

This is why most MPs just hang around the dingy Commons bars. That's not healthy, and contributes to the toxic atmosphere in Parliament referred to by the Warrington North MP.

Honest question.

Do you think the way the party has handled each of these things is exactly the same?

Has Labour rewarded and supported the things you quote? Have the Conservatives rewarded and supported the things that you quote?

Do you see why people suggest that you are trolling?

The bloke had been baiting and harassing him. Everyone has a threshold beyond which they snap.

Post-pub fights start somewhere. He wasn't the instigator of the conflict, but he was the one to wade in with fists, and, as I have said, it was totally right that he was prosecuted and sentenced.

It's possible to have a both/and nuanced response to something like this.

Don't we have a chancellor of the exchequer who basically made up their career history and is kept in her job? Not criminal, but certainly dishonest. Pretty sure if my employer discovered I'd lied on my CV, I'd be fired.

Bloke A shouts abuse at Bloke B post-pub.

Bloke B twots Bloke A.

Bystander "Oh look- a fight!"

Bloots "No, not technically a fight, that's a fact!"
Everybody else watching "Looks like a fight to me!"

The word "nuance" was used in relation to being able to say it was right and proper that the MP was charged, convicted and punished, whilst also having a degree of sympathy for the circumstances that led to it and the disproportionate results.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. The other bloke may well have been mouthing off and may have well deserved it. But theres no excuse for that MPs actions.
He's put himself in a position in society where his actions will possibly be judged more then ' other men caught up in a fight after hours'.
I also wouldn't call it a fight, the other man had his hands in his pockets and was sucker punched by a drunk politician. It was all pretty shameful

I like the way they have instantly attempted to raise the quality of life for the poorest in society by raising benefits and taking care of pensioners etc...

You also gave to appreciate the way they have taxed the wealthiest in society more in order to improve the lives of the poorest and attempt to achieve a more equal society..

What's not to like..
