The surprising thing is it’s taken him until now to realise the party is fundamentally racist. He’s supposed to be a bright cookie, so how can he be so dumb? Maybe he genuinely thought they could put that side behind them, who knows. Yet they’re obviously still a draw for racists, as their last set of councillor candidates showed. I don’t think they can change that with Farage running the show, as xenophobia and dog whistling to racists is all he knows (although he does seem to be branching out into that other right wing grift of crypto). | |

Won’t affect Reform in the short-term but Yusuf was supposedly the one looking to professionalise the party, so he’ll be a big miss on that front. He was also one of the very few who Reform trusted to do media appearances (they won’t let 30p Lee, Pochin or the one who beat up his girlfriend anywhere near question time) which puts more of a burden on Farage and Tice.
