So McKenna’s release clause…. What do we reckon? 15:35 - Jun 8 with 1954 views | Matt_Netherlands | My guess is somewhere between £3-5m. He’s on a fair whack, but if Thomas Frank has one at £10m then any championship manager has got to be a fair amount less.

Have you been living under a rock for the Delap situation?

They have compensation that needs to be paid, and that is related to the manager's contract. KmK's is likely to be pretty sizable as he has a valuable long term contract with most of it still to run.

No evidence that McKenna has a similar step-down or that managers in general have that type of clause. I think 5M may have been mentioned when he signed his new contract. SB [Post edited 8 Jun 16:17]

Would we not take anything Brentford offered, given that McKenna could just resign as Burley did at Colchester? I guess it depends how the contract was written. No idea tbh. If there is some kind of release clause/compensation £3m-£5m? Regardless, I doubt it’s anything Premier League Brentford, with all their wealth, couldn’t dig out of their capacious wallet with ease. Chump change.

Given there is a compensation set I assume resigning doesn't work otherwise what would be the point? SB
So McKenna’s release clause…. What do we reckon? on 17:01 - Jun 8 with 1326 views | leftback | I think he’d go to any top flight club if offered the job but regarding his wages wasn’t he in the top 5-6 highest paid managers in the prem when he signed his new deal?? So probably take a wage cut to move on | | | | Login to get fewer ads

What has rocks got to do with anything? When he signed his new contract I dare say it was with premiership terms so any compo should reflect that ,yes?

So McKenna’s release clause…. What do we reckon? on 20:08 - Jun 8 with 725 views | J2BLUE | Well if it was £4m before do we think it's gone up or down? You have to think it's gone up because we would have wanted some sort of security in exchange for the bumper new deal. Keeping it at 4m or lowering it would be odd.

So McKenna’s release clause…. What do we reckon? on 21:26 - Jun 8 with 544 views | ClareBlue | Something that's never mentioned is he comes from a community that really values loyalty. Not just tokenism or platitudes, but genuinely does. It might just be that when he signed that contract he actually intended to see it through, just a thought. He's not under paid or under valued where he is. Maybe he wants to achieve what he was given a contract to achieve.

Generally speaking clauses are lowered when players or managers drop down a level (negotiated in by the player / manager), so they can in theory leave more easily to a team in a higher division comes knocking. See Delap for example…. Chances are he would have had a higher clause if we survived in the prem
