Could be very wrong, but I think Gilchrist is more defensive (I haven’t seen him play so could be waffling) and think Wilder wanted a different option for teams sat back so wanted a different option but played 30 times for them last season according to wiki | |

I have no worries about Johnson as a player at all. I think it depends on whether KM sticks to this ‘tucked in’ RB which is almost another CB. If that’s the case, I think Johnson will play further forward. Intriguing summer ahead! | |

Much as I think Axel is a very good player particularly at Champ level, his injury record concerns me. We need players who can stay fit for most of the season which in a 46 game season is a big ask I know.
Same with Hirst. Great player but very injury-prone. |  |

I'm just not sure he adds a profile to what we already have? He ultimately lost his place to Harry Clarke so signing him for what would be millions is probably not the most sensible use of funds.
I think KMc will be pretty happy playing O'Shea at RB and Woolfy at CB for the most part.
If we did want another body I'd opt for someone more in the mould of Axel.
Maybe someone like Josh Acheampong from Chelsea if possible? Started most of their Conference League games at RB/ LB, started two PL games at CB, still 19, 6ft + and could nail down that side whilst adding cover across the backline. | | | |
