I think there's a good chance that Slicker goes on loan and Gray stays as the the third choice/training keeper this season.
It's still relatively easy to get an emergency loan in for a goal keeper if the first choice or back up keeper were to be out for any length of time.
At 20 keeping him here this season would free up a squad slot as he wouldn't be counted. | |

Would seem very sensible to do it this way, he's had excellent loan spells at both Chelmsford and Braintree and looks like he could be the real deal.
A year around the first team here, or a loan to L1 or L2 is next step in his development and as you say the extra squad spot is important and Slicker has to go on loan somewhere |  |
