probably best we sack him now, just in case he ever contemplates leaving in the future

Indeed. If he doesn't want to be here then we do not want him either.

We need an immediate statement of loyalty from McKenna now. But if his head is already being turned by Leicester then Ashton better be finding a replacement as we speak.

Apparently Ruud van Nistelrooy is available.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I'd rather be back languishing in 3rd division (south)

He's a famous former Man United player. He would fit the fit the bill for a fair few here if our previous experience is anything to go by.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Their finances must be absolute dire to have to manipulate to the level they are doing. They are cooked.

King Power aren't in the best of financial positions either. Quite possible at some point Leicester get sold.

Dyche heavily linked. He would do what Dyche does: make them solid, dull, organised, but probably getting them winning again.

Their fans won't settle for dull

He always was very smarmy and now this Leicester job is available that just shows his lack of commitment. He hasn't even publically ruled himself out of the Sheffield Wednesday job.

Perfect job for the Alla-dyche tribute act as he certainly won’t get a PL job again.

Club in financial difficulty where he can create an ‘us against the privileged’ narrative. Tick

Growl a bit about ‘level playing fields’ and how he’d love to have a shot on target, but his hands are tied. Tick

That tedious old bollox probably does gets him one more job, despite even David Moyes managing to sort out his latest clusterfeck of eye-bleeding, anti-football, in a matter of days.

Poll: September 2025. Which one?

We had to sell Delap in 24/25 accounts, for the same reasons.

If we don’t get promoted, our 26/27 will be the definition of ‘cooked’.

No club gets by in the revenue at this level, and we still have 3/4 years of £20 million legacy liabilities each year from our splurge last season.

We should worry more about our senior team ‘gas lighting’ supporters on our own finances.

.., nothing to see, and the narrative that 23/24 is ok so the car crash of 24/25 doesn’t matter until the accounts are published .., out liabilities will run in to EFL revenue periods and that will be very painful.

Still Ashton has 35 years in the game, zero success at an elite level, but a cabinet full of Ed and Wardley selfies.., so it’s fine.
