Not been overly impressed with Glastonbury this year so far on 22:12 - Jun 29 by Bugs | Just watched The Scissor Sisters on iplayer. Not sure if I have ever watched anything so camp in my life. They were great! And great fun. They did some great songs I had completely forgotten about. |
I love The Scissor Sisters, I'll watch it tomorrow. Rod the Mod was great, seeing as he's 100 years old, great to see him with Ronnie but I've never been a Lulu fan. I thought Nile Rodgers was a bit disappointing to say the least.

Not been overly impressed with Glastonbury this year so far on 14:09 - Jun 29 by DJR | Rod Stewart may have misread the room, given his recent support for Farage. "Hoops superfan Rod wants to see a wave of green and white when he belts out his biggest hits from the iconic Pyramid Stage and is asking his fans to wear Celtic FC shirts to help him achieve the dream." It certainly hasn't gone down well in recent years after he admitted backing Boris Johnson. |

It's almost like you can't please everyone all of the time. Also, if you're watching it on telly you're not likely to be "feeling it".

At home you know what time and day it is. At Glasto I found myself checking the day with my mates - It's Saturday right? - yeah, think so. I rarely ventured to the Pyramid stage until 4pm except once - Billy Bragg first act on at noon. I was in the comedy tent or at the acoustic stage till then but no BBC camera has ever been to those 2 venues.

and that's fine, not every year is going to be for everyone but for me i've not enjoyed it this year. Nothing has captivated me like it usually does, i've still got to watch the Prodigy. I've been 'feeling it' before even if it was on tv, so not really sure how that's a valid point. Can you not get a feeling watching football on tv or do you have to exclusively be in the ground for comparison? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Well anything is better being there than watching on TV if you're wanting to 'feel' it. That's where the atmosphere is. And of course, on TV you're just fed what the TV company wants to feed you, you can't just wander off and discover something else. I've just watched The Prodigy set as it goes, and thought it was fantastic. During that I had the strange urge to smash up my TV, but in a good/cathartic way.

Not been overly impressed with Glastonbury this year so far on 15:47 - Jun 30 with 51 views | FBI | Beabadoobee were great, as was Olivia Rodrigo who, me being 58, I'd never even heard of. Neil Young was ace. Saw the start of Pulp before the U21s final and it was okay but I gather it picked up after kick-off and I've seen the Prodigy enough before to know they'd be good. Future Islands were horrific. And far too much landfill indie like the Maccabees and the 1975 but plenty of people like them so fair enough, I suppose. (Context) As some of you will know if you've been paying attention, I have a 'history' in the B-List indie band world and a few friends have played there over the years on the Pyramid and in tiny tents. It's a bloody scam for the performers in general. Aside from the big acts many don't get paid at all (Ooh, exposure! Merch!) and as for the smaller acts, you're often given no money and two, yes TWO, free tickets for band members to get in; the rest of the band/crew are actually expected to pay. Alternatively you can - and this is not a wind up - work a few bar shifts to cover your admission. It's a bloody disgrace, even worse than the going rate for a slot on Jools Holland starting at £10K.
