Birmingham just dropped £10m on 22:37 - Jul 6 by FrimleyBlue | Currently Hirst has shown he is better than kyogo in our championship. It's not to be forgotten that Kyogo hasn't played a champ game yet. But also he had shoulder surgery, months out and then further issues with the same shoulder. Who knows what level he can now play let alone how many games. |
Nowhere did I mention that Kyogo is better than Hirst. I said we need to sign a striker who is better than Kyogo. Are you confident we can?

I appreciate you didn't. I just meant at the moment we have one imo who may already be better than him already with us. I don't think its a push to sign a striker better than a 30 year old who only played 6 games last season personally.

Birmingham just dropped £10m on 22:25 - Jul 6 by ITFCSG | Fair enough. But as a player which club is more attractive. People who were claiming we couldn't attract Prem regulars as a newly-promoted club in the PL last season - the same applies to Brum as well in the Championship. So why are they so special? Leicester and Saints are a financial basket case this season, they won't have much room to spend unlike us so once again you can't really measure ourselves with them. No one said Brum were favourites for promotion except their delusional fans posting all over social media. |
A quick search shows Coral has them as joint third favourites to win the division. https://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?fr=mcafee&type=E210GB1289G0&p=champio That, to me, is among the favourites for promotion.

Well, it is hard to say but if Brum can keep him fit and get him back to playing like he was in the SPL then they have a bargain. Tuanzebe only made 4 apps in the season before he came to us and he didn't do badly!

That is very true. I shall await how it goes before making that point. Didn't learn my lesson with axel lol.

Birmingham just dropped £10m on 22:30 - Jul 6 by ITFCSG | What I meant was comparing ourselves (as a parachute club) vs Brum (a newly promoted club) in terms of attracting new players was a low bar. For starters, we need to get a 9 in who is proven to be better than Kyogo. I am longing to see who MA will bring in. |
Well he didn't do that either but there you go. Why do we need to get a number 9 who is proven to be better than Kyogo? It's worth remembering that last time we were in this division we scored the most goals (92) yet our top scorer was Broadhead with 13. In that same season the top scorer in the league was Szmodics with 27. We have a good squad, KM will improve it with the right players. Who cares what Brum are doing? SB

Betting odds are mainly derived from the number of punters placing bets. I am sure plenty of delusional Bluenoses have already placed one. Just go onto any social media - X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc. they are everywhere. Obnoxious.

//Why do we need to get a number 9 who is proven to be better than Kyogo?// --> Because we need a 9 as a backup to Hirst, who isn't exactly the most injury-free player we have? //It's worth remembering that last time we were in this division we scored the most goals (92) yet our top scorer was Broadhead with 13. With the likes of j clarke. Philogene. Burns and ogbene on the scene. Maybe we will see Sammy S in the false 9 role rotating with hirst. And another new forward. Sammy is too good to sit on the bench esp at champ level. In the false 9 he can drop deep but also make runs in behind too.

Now you're doing to me what you did to him which is write things I didn't say or imply. "//Why do we need to get a number 9 who is proven to be better than Kyogo?// --> Because we need a 9 as a backup to Hirst, who isn't exactly the most injury-free player we have?" How do we even know how good Kyogo is? He's never played in the Champ and he barely played all last season. What if we get a youngster from a PL club? We won't know if he's better than Kyogo for quite some time. I actually think a youngster might be a possibility but we will have to wait and see. "//It's worth remembering that last time we were in this division we scored the most goals (92) yet our top scorer was Broadhead with 13. I think everyone knows we need another striker, the type, level and experience of that striker will be determined by KM. Once again I've not stated any of our other players will play as a striker. In fact I've done the opposite which is state that the available evidence we have is that we can and have scored from all over the pitch in this division and we won't rely just on a striker to get our goals. That is supported by evidence from our last promotion campaign. "//We have a good squad, KM will improve it with the right players.// --> Still waiting to see who he brings in for the required positions" It's called having confidence in the manager and his decision making. By your response you don't seem to have that which is a shame. "//Who cares what Brum are doing?// --> Because this thread is about Brum and the players they are signing?" Fair point. You do seem however to be pairing Brums signings with having a go at our business. The general tone of your posts is quite negative which is also a shame. There is plenty of time left, don't get too disillusioned with the business. I would prefer time was taken to get the right quality signings for what we need. SB [Post edited 6 Jul 23:20]

All this is fine but I do still agree that we really do need another number 9 in. It also needs to be someone who will be better than Al Hamadi and youth options or there is no point in signing them really. That probably is someone better than Kyogo or at least on a par and likely to stay fit.

Birmingham just dropped £10m on 23:19 - Jul 6 with 172 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Very good business so far. Look to be building a very good side over there that should be capable of top 6 at the very least. But there would be two main questions. Is it too many signings, they got 100+ points last year and are coming up with lots of momentum, will they lose that if they make wholesale changed to that team. When we came up we persisted with the same team and got off to a flying start, and then eased guys like Omari and Axel in later in the season. Manager is still an unknown quantity. Like McKenna was when we came up. Both did what was expected and got the teams out of league one. McKenna proved to be mustard in the champ as well, can Davies do the same ? They seem like the two reasons that would stop Brum from being really competitive, because they certainly have good players.

You literally did say on paper they have a better strike force than us. The transfer window has barely started and we are after a higher calibre of player and they take longer to get through the door and are generally deals that require players moving around. It's no surprise to me that nothing has happened yet. [Post edited 6 Jul 23:24]
