Time to trust KM 11:59 - Jul 15 with 1806 views | FrimleyBlue | Many times I've been told on this forum to trust KM. Absolutely right. I'm therfore quite puzzled by some of the comments about Morsy. And In no way am I belittling anything he's done and don't wish this to come across that way My point of this post is to trust KM that he believes morals leadership qualities are within the club without the man needing to be there. The leadership group is well known We have a new skipper in oshea We have a new midfielder coming in who loves a battle There's nothing to suggest we will not have the same leadership that morsy gave us. Let's celebrate his time with us. But let's not see this as a negative move by the club. The clubs evolving. The type of squad we are seeing put together is one that we've not seen at town for possibly 20 odd years. We are seeing signings made that only a few seasons ago would have been record transfer fees being spent and they're now just part and parcel of what we can do. So thanks skip. Go off and enjoy one last pay check. Enjoy the football the life that goes with it. For town and the likes of chappers. Oshea. Ogbene. Kipre, share your journeys with the rest of the squad and keep that leadership group well intact and let's go get that promotion. Coyb!

I'm happy if it's Kuwait, as we won't come up against him. O'Shea is a born leader, and will make a good continuation from Morsy. The club and the squad are in good hands at every level.
Time to trust KM on 12:35 - Jul 15 with 1546 views | davblue | for me thinking about it more, i think we will miss his 'mongrel', we don't really have anyone in the squad who can roll their sleeves up and battle or who has a nasty side. The leadership and experince of knowing the championship is going to be a huge loss.

Quite right. In particular, I was looking forward to him winding up the scum!

Indeed, the loss of his and Delap's ability to wind up opposition players and fans alike, will be hard to replace. In fact, Mass also liked a crunching tackle. There's a lot of the real engine going from the squad at the moment that needs upgrading.
Time to trust KM on 13:10 - Jul 15 with 1353 views | BluedanW | it's a shame we couldn't get Cajuste and build a team around him, with him as captain. However I think O'shea could step up to be a great captain for the club.
Time to trust KM on 13:24 - Jul 15 with 1259 views | SheffordBlue | I'm definitely enjoying the new improved positive mindset of your posts Frimmers! I thought you often brought out some good points but quite often framed in an antagonistic/negative way. Much prefer your new approach.

Time to trust KM on 13:44 - Jul 15 with 1088 views | ReusersTown | Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, I hope this is more a KM led decision than an Ashton one and TBH I'd prefer it if we just gave Morsy the contract he wants provided it's not ridiculous. You could hardly argue he hasn't earned it and a bit of loyalty.

I was intrigued by the new CM tho when he said in the interview he's a nice guy off the pitch but a pain in the ar3se on it. If that's the case. We may have ourselves another morsy type mongrel

There’s not much room for loyalty and sentiment unfortunately. I’d be quite happy for him to see out his contract here, but we’ve already prepared the ground for him leaving. I suppose that’s the silver lining if he goes - we’ve already replaced him with Azor. On paper Azor is better, so let’s hope he is as Morsy has consistently punched well above expectations. I’ll be gutted when he goes though - we’ve not had someone with his character in the middle of the park since Jim.

true, but that is an unknown at present and he has to get used to the style of play, physical nature of the league in terms of games, it's a risk hopefully will step into it fine, but if we go with 2 unknowns in terms of the league, we could blow our top 2 hopes straight away nearly if they struggle. I would have liked to keep Morsy for the next year, to embed the new players and phase him out in an ideal world.

His time with Wigan, WBA and Cardiff was mostly if not all in the Championship, wasn't it?

Time to trust KM on 19:01 - Jul 15 with 235 views | darkhorse28 | I think you’ve summed up the challenge perfectly. Two of the leadership group you mentioned, they’ve never kicked a ball for us. That’s a leap to suggest they can take on those roles, Chappers has a challenge to get a game, so that’s O’Shea, who’s been here 12 mk the and has never seen any success with the group. Leadership is a strange thing.., a winning culture, with a group of individuals who buy in to a leader, and as a group come together to form a winning team dynamic, that run through brick walls together, that can take time, San was here a while before it started to come together, with others contributing in the group as you rightly point out. We do still look short of natural leaders, and certainly this group are not bonded, they haven’t won countless battles together. They haven’t built that trust, that respect, that spirit born of digging results out together, in the trenches. If Ogbenne and Kipre are our leadership group, neither of which will start the season in the team, we are well short. Does feel like we might need an experienced head somewhere in the group.or even in the coaching group .., McKenna is a baby in management terms at 39, certainly we look short on some qualities Sam exuded. We’ll replace him football wise more easily than the traits we don’t easily measure. How many points was Sam worth 23/24 .., how many games were we not really the best side, but just found a way. 15 points? .., maybe more? The whole is very real .., we could play MUCH better than 23/24, which a technically much better side…., and if that resulted in 20 fewer points, I wouldn’t be shocked. Sam bullied us to results we wouldn’t have got without him. Not unique, but certainly not qualities we see very often. If it was Top Trumps .., and we go for Leadershio score - Sam on his own, beats the sum total of most of that leadership group you named. I’d certainly give you any two of them and it wouldn’t be enough. Exceptional leader.., get a feeling we’ll see just how much we miss him early part of the season. He’d love Birmingham away.., nobody fancying us.., go there,, kick lumps out of them.., guarantee at least some sort of result.
