Be glad when he has signed for someone. All getting a tad tiresome and not sure he ever gave us a second thought after relegation.

How the heck would you know what he did/didn't think!

I think the reality is he doesn’t want to be playing in the championship.

Because a €6.5m fee would be of no issue to us.

Bit of a weird one, Turkish league hardly any great shakes. I assume the wages may be better though.

The only Muff in Town.

Await the medical!

Brace yourself for a Cajuste saga by Chris_ITFC 8 Jul 9:45
I mean, people saw “medical booked” and were keen to move on.

But with Cajuste, the medical is where the fun starts!

Wages will be higher than what we could offer in Championship, but we could blow them away in PL.

Look at Tuanzebe, Trabzonspor looking to take him when we probably couldn’t compete with that.

Just part and parcel of relegation to the Chanpionship unfortunately, become a far less attractive option.

Can't actually see that Sky either here or in Italy are saying that, but a lot of Turkish media seems to be saying they are, so that's not to say it's not the case or it won't happen as it's been in the background for nearly a month. Anyone else see anything from Sky anywhere saying that?

No, me neither. Just lots of aggregator accounts regurgitating it.

We have no idea what conversations have taken place, and without that it's impossible to draw any conclusion.

It's not impossible that he'd like to come back, and we'd like him back, but both parties will have their own terms and expectations. If those don't align and can't be negotiated to align, then a deal won't be done.

It's over only when he's confirmed as signed elsewhere - until then I'd guess there is a chance he might still end up with us, but quite possible not as a starter. We have other irons in the fire... And that may be one of the 'expectations' that makes he hesitant.

It's far more nuanced than saying 'he never gave us a second thought'.

Further to this, seems the situation is currently unchanged. As per story a while back, Burnley was the Premier League option being looked at.

#Cajuste is awaiting a call from the Premier League, but #Besiktas is ready to make a strong move and convince the player with a significant financial offer. Everything is set with #Napoli for a deal around 8 million euros.

I saw another foreign journo suggest they were after a better offer too.

My prediction of a couple of weeks turning into an underestimate.

Based on last summer, his medical could be another turning point at any club bar us!

I reckon it’s got a couple weeks to run yet.

Surely a premier league club not the premier league itself. Why are they getting involved.

Besiktas are taking longer to close a deal than Evans-era Ipswich.

I think we're doing no more than keeping a watching brief having made our offer early in the window, one which I believe was very lucrative. But, from what I'm told, he sees the Championship as a backward move, even if he thoroughly enjoyed his time here. I think he sees Turkey similarly, hence the reticence over the move there.

OK.... but is it holding us up on making offers on others who don't see the Championship as a backward step?

Getting tough now. Of the reported interest

Cajuste - wants higher level football
Downes - Saints wont sell to us
Longstaff - joined Leeds
Brownhill - too much money if reports are true
Hackney - Reported wants PL
Ruiz - Coach doesn't want him to join an unimportant club

Interesting to see what level of player we are looking at next.

Edited : I forgot Ruiz, I knew there was someone.
