Hutch replacement 11:56 - Jul 24 with 2621 viewsbournemouthblue

if Hutch does move on, do we already have someone in the building with a similar profile to him in Mendel-Idowu who by all accounts is a tricky winger with pace, presumably quite raw but talented or are we likely to loan him out somewhere and find a more experienced Hutch replacement?

Obviously the likes of Ogbene and Burns may cover the absence any way but they aren't direct swaps for Hutch

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

He'd be miles of it, we would likely need a left footed one on one dribbler either on loan or as a purchase

Rak-Sakyi is heavily linked with Rangers and one we liked before

Surely Clarke, Sammy and Philogene cover the 3 starting positions behind Hirst?

Then I guess we are into cover, such as Burns, Ogbene, Chaplin, Humphreys....

Do you think Rak-Sakyi would make it in the Prem though Joe? I'm not so sure at all. I do wonder if we might go for someone like Nwaneri on loan.

(Not necessarily him by the way, just that kind of profile)

Nwaneri would have a queue of about 19 Prem clubs in for him.

We cant be too pre-occupied with whether people are ready for the Prem.

I agree. We have so many players for these positions. If enough of them stay fit that is, which was a big issue last season.

Invest the money in a goal scorer and in midfield.

I'll be amazed if we don't sign at least another 2 players for those 3 positions.

I could see us investing in more cover / replacing some of the cover.

....I forgot about Broadhead!!

No I don't think we do and I am almost certain the club would bring in a replacement with the same skillset as Omari and they should.

I think people see the options we have behind the striker and just sort of club them together, none of them play like Omari or offer what he can.

We're not, but I don't think Hutchinson or Broadhead will be here come the end of the window and I don't think they will want to put any pressure on Burns or Ogbenie given the seriousness of their injuries.

Its very difficult to replace a £35m player.

I know, thats kind of vague though.

Similar profile to the best young talent in England?

Of course it is, but you sign a player who's young and of a similar profile who can contribute but still has lots to improve on and you develop them.

I wonder if they see that potential in Clarke or Philogene.

We got pretty lucky with Hutch.

I like both players a lot but not sure either have ceilings like Omari does, just think he is a level up physically than they are.

Neither would be able to play in his role either. Don't have the same skillsets and both much more comfortable on the left.

We will lose omari and broadhead and will bring in one to cover,
We're in the championship they can be replaced at this level,
Broadhead did ok in his cameos in the prem but if we want to stay up if we're lucky enough to go up best to cash in now,
Omari is to good for the championship and on last year's showing not good enough at prem level can't hold the kid up training day in day out with prem players will help his development,

We certainly have more than we had during our promotion season. We’ve added Clarke, Szmodics, Ogbene, Philogene and lost Sarmiento and soon to lose Hutch. Plus Johnson can also cover the Burns role. So that’s 2 more options than in our promotion season.

2 CMs would be my priority. And yeah, then another good striker.

I just don't think I can conclusively say he is not good enough for the prem when he played with a bunch of other players who weren't good enough for the prem.

I thought he got some unfair stick by our fans (not saying you) I thought he was clearly one of our better players.

He was in the top half yes of our players, I just think for him now's the time to mix with technically better and stronger players,
Pains me but relegation cost us him,
