No way he's coming here if he's with their squad

If he is in the squad it’s not happening. We move on, his loss.

Hackney on the bench on 14:15 - Aug 2 with 1009 views | FrimleyBlue | I know the reports are he turned us down. However there's still a chance it's not done and dusted as he was only ever due down here for the day which imo was too short for talks medical etc as they tend to be done over more than just 1 day.

By all accounts we are the onky offer hes had, and hes turned us down thrn ? Screw him then... we've wasted yet again so much time chasing a player that doesnt want to join us, potentially missing out of other decent players. We ko next Friday and still gave no additional experienced striker. Are we really expecting Hirst to be our primary (only) striker to deal with a 40+ game season? I know its difficult getting top players to join as we are competing with lower PL level clubs, but as others have alluded to on here, thus is starting to look like yet another window where we fail to get our striker pool to the level we need....

Striker is a real issue for us for some reason. Is KM being to selective with what he wants in that department? We cannot go a whole season or even half a season with Hirst and Ali, that is just plain stupid !

I think you’re panicking over nothing, the window always closes into the season and squads change massively in the first month. That’s always the way.

Why have we missed out on other players it’s common to look at multiple players for positions. Look at the Pompey guy in the door and suddenly Edwards became available when we didn’t think and we switched to signing Edwards. We would 100% still been looking at other CMs especially as we still need a couple but hopefully only 1 by end of weekend

I understand the concerns. A month into the season we could be 10 points behind the leaders, then if we get new recruits late we will get the famous Kieran line “they need time to gel” We need to hit the ground running, it’s been a poor transfer window and all we seem to do is chase one player every season who ends up not coming. You say don’t panic. This forum will go into meltdown if we have a poor start and looking at the fixtures and our recruitment so far there’s a very good chance we could be well behind the leading pack.

Sure the striker quest has been carrying on concurrently. Share your thoughts that it will have taken a while again, but not that we're expecting Hirst to carry the season with only Al-Hamadi for backup. If Cajuste arrives quickly now then it indicates we haven't wasted all these weeks on one CM option but have multitasked, for me anyway. I'd still be grateful to see one more though.

You're going into meltdown already if you think we'll be 10 points behind in a month. It's another nonsense post.

Based on what? We still have a better squad than any other team in my view, why are you elevating their squads and assuming we are going to lose matches? Only one having a meltdown here seems to be you. SB

That's pure conjecture too, but I do understand the nervousness amongst many fans.
