McKenna: Hutchinson Not Mentally in Right Place For France Trip 2nd Aug 2025 19:39

We have got a hell of a lot of work to do in this transfer window and anyone that thinks otherwise is burying their hands in the sand.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

That's it, he's off then for sure. Sad it had to end like this, but seems that his time here is finished and he's basically trying to push the club into accepting an offer.

Be interesting to see how the club handles this, clearly Brentford have not made an offer the club finds acceptable and Hutchinson is trying to force their hand into accepting a lower bid.

Not really.

Young lad, he's done us proud - quite possibly a tough decision to make for him now, so fair enough.

Pathetic imo. Send him to the u21s if he doesn't to do what we pay him to do.

The end of the day he's paid very well to do his job. He accepted that contacted and he knows in football you can't just say you want to go if a club doesn't pay what your club wants them to pay. He's been well paid by us.

It's really not a surprise though is it. He's had a very god two seasons with us, in fact his season last year was better than many give him credit for.

He looked a cut above just about everyone at the Euro's - so it's not really a surprise that he's leaving.

I'll be very surprised if the Club haven't anticipated this.

Absolutely no loyalty in football anymore.

A big shame.

I don't think it's necessary to believe exactly what McKenna says in all his press conferences. Sounds more to me like he's about to be sold and there's no point playing or risking him. Assuming negotiations are still taking place nobody ay the club would come right out and say it.

It's just manager speak for he's off. I wouldn't read much more into it than that.

Sorry homer completely disagree, throwing toys out of pram because we aren't just letting him leave. End of day we agreed to his terms when it came to relegation release. Those terms weren't met. That's on Brentford.

Yep. Not mentally in the right place translates as putting his parts on for me. Real shame.

Quite happy to sign a 5 year contract on ridiculous money. Win as a team lose as a team, games gone.

I’ve got nothing against Omari, he’s had a good couple of years and the figures being spoken about are a good return for us.

But right now, our squad is no better than last seasons and we kick off in 6 days with 2 new signings, one of which who looks like they’ll start the season as a back up centre back.

I think he should be able to leave, but he should remain professional until he does, just like people should when working notice etc.

You don't really need to believe everything a manager says in a press conference or interview.

Sorry Sitters, I respect you but you can't really be surprised if he leaves.

He, like Delap, has been excellent for us. In addition, I suspect a pretty hefty fee is coming our way as well. He's not going to be easy to replace but it's football nowadays.

Disagree.

McKenna is and always has been refreshingly honest (as much as he can be) when he speaks.

Has no other reason to say what he’s said.

Nor argument on the later from me - but I have faith in Ashton and McKenna, they've not let us down so far.

Don’t think anyone would be suprised if he leaves. Suprising that he may have downed tools in the meantime.

Clearly what is happening is Brentford have bid a certain amount, we've asked for more and the Agent has probably advised Omari that Brentford are not willing to meet the asking price and to apply some pressure on the club to force us to accept a lower bid.

He is not that good! £37.5m is a lot of money…..

Won’t be surprised but there’s ways of going about it isn’t there.

I don’t think he should leave what he has here for Brentford though, to be honest.

We’ve given him his ‘big break’ and he didn’t exactly set the world alight last season (unlike Delap) so just feel he should stay here, have a brilliant season in the Championship and can go again with us in the Premier League or go next summer and have his pick of the clubs.
